Nothing right now (AP History kills my free time). I finished Beowulf for school a little while back, and plan on reader Slaughterhouse Five and Blood Meridian soon.

Have you read Requiem for a Dream? If not, Selby's style can get aggravating -- he tends to run paragraphs together and not let the reader in on who's talking (he doesn't include quotation marks, either).

So far (only a hundred pages in), it's more or less a series of interconnected stories about different lower-class characters (sailors, hooligans, prostitutes, transvestites), and none of them are sympathetic or even likeable, always lashing out at authority and each other.

The section I'm on is called "The Queen is Dead," and it's pretty good.

No, I haven't read 'Requiem.' The movie was more than enough for me.
Damn, I usually hate that kind of writing style...it just aggravates me.

The book sounds pretty odd, but I guess Selby likes writing about un-sympathetic characters. It still sounds like an interesting read.
Thanks for telling me about it, I'll be prepared when I read it.
