Pieces 1983, any good?

I saw this movie for 6 bucks on DVD so I bought it. It looks like a cheesy, low budget 80's slasher. has anyone seen this? is it any good?

Pieces is one of the best b movies ever made. I love it. It's bad, stupid, and quite cheesy but to me it's a friggin winner.

you should see it. it's amazing.

Cool, sounds interesting. I'm assuming the DVD is uncut, it also says that it is digitally enhanced.

I figured for 6 bucks I couldn't go wrong. Plus I added to my collection...hopefully I'll enjoy it.

Be aware that the Diamond dvd might be rated R. Both Fulci movies I've bought that were put out by them were R instead of unrated.

i got seven doors of death and house by the cemetary from them, they do seem cut.

i'm gonna go ahead and get the beyond dvd sometime, i'd like to see the extras. the seven doors version was good, not very good quality though.

actually I just checked and it said that it's rated "R". But I"m not all that concerned about it.

Oh, geez, I first saw this film when I was about 13 and thought it was one of the worst films I had ever seen in my entire life. Since then, I met quite a few people that praise it and pontificate on how great it is. So, I'm at Coconuts a few months back and I see it for $5 on DVD and think, "Well, if everyone else thinks it's so great, I may as well give it another chance. And, if it sucks, I'm out five bucks. Big deal." I buy it, bring it home and give it that second chance. I would've been better off grabbing something to eat at McDonald's with that five bucks. PIECES is still one of the absolute WORST films I have ever seen. The dubbing is bad, the story is almost non-existant, and the direction is abysmal. Now, I LOVE bad movies. I especially love movies so bad, they're good. But this one is so bad, it's...BAD.

Sure, PIECES is bad but it's still fun to watch.
The Diamond DVD is actually the uncut version even though it says "R".
There's also a neat widescreen special edition DVD from PIECES available in Germany (for those interested).

To determine if you'll enjoy Pieces, take this quiz:

1) Have you ever enjoyed a movie despite the fact that it had plot holes you could drive a semi through?

2) Do you like red, wet, gooey gore?

3) Does the idea of a random kung-fu fight inserted into the middle of a movie for no reason at all make you chuckle?

4) Do you buy the concept that a professional tennis player can moonlight as a detective?

If you answered "yes" to all of the above questions, then you'll enjoy the movie.

Yup. It's great. Pure cheese, but if you love 80s flicks where the cute chicks bare their breasts before getting killed, you'll LOVE this vid. Plenty of unclothed heaving chests and bouncing naked breasts.

Pieces: 1/10
The stuff: -0/10

Some of the WORST cheeseball crap I've seen in the 80's. I was a teen when this stuff played and STILL didnt like it. What can I say? I've NEVER in my film watching life had an affinity for cheese movies. The ONLY, and I mean ONLY one I can deal with is Evil Dead 2.

I don't think it's nearly as bad as some here claim it to be. For a BAD slasher movie try "Nail Gun Massacre" or "Don't Go in the Woods" which, makes "Pieces" look like "Halloween."

I agree with Driller Killer and Dude on this. This movie is really bad. I love gore with the rest of them but this movie is a poorly made flick. I can think of tons more cheesy movies better than this one like Slumber Party Massacre 1 and 3, Silent Night Deadly Night, Midnight, Intruder, Blood Hook, The Mutilator, etc. Pieces is bottom of the barrel drek. I can't believe Christopher George was in this.
