Can't handle contrasting reviews.....

sometimes I feel like the only reason people share their opinions of movies is in hopes of lots of other people going, "Oh yeah, me too."


Why?


Well, you can watch a thread, where everyone is in agreeance, and it seems like no one ever writes more than a couple of sentences:

A: I love Superman

B: Me too!

C: Superman rocks!

Then it goes on like that, but if someone says something other than agreeance, the thread blows up....

D: Ah. Superman is kind of lame

A: Well give me some reasons why it's lame.

B: Yeah that's a shitty criticism if your not going to back it up

C:

D: Well, he wears tights and why can't anyone tell it is really Clark Kent? I never got that.

A: Obviously you have never read the comics

B: You mean you saw the movie and didn't know about Superman

C:





Why is that people can be really cool, and laid back.... until someone disagrees with them? Most the time, people read very short-sighted too.... missing the positive parts of the post......



D: Look, I think you guys are just bigger fans than I am. I've never gotten too into comics. I thought Gene Hackman was great, though. Love that guy! What do you all think?

A: Well Duh, we are bigger fans! I don't even understand why you posted on a Superman thread to begin with

B: Your heart must be made out of Kryptonite!

i hope i am ok at handling them.

but sometimes people get really defensive....and they don't need to be. and sometimes people are too sensitive if someone doesn't like the same movie as them. remember my 'when people are too into movies thread?' thats what i meant

Heh. I was guilty of that recently in the T2 thread. By the way, I meant no offense there assassin. Just thought your comments deserved a bit of an argument (I was cranky that day )

Anyway, I know I do it sometimes so I'm not going to condemn those who do. I'll just go on record as saying I don't like that behavior either, and I'll try to cut down myself on that type of thing.

Whenever you feel the urge, think of the word "opinion"....
