Oh, and I'm really looking forward to seeing Kevin Smith take over Spider-man. We haven't got any of his episodes here in France yet, not even the Spider-man / Black Cat: Evil That Men Do miniseries, so I'm reeeeeaaally hyped to check those out!

Alan Moore is the greatest writer in comics history. He is in a class all by himself. Following behind him are Will Eisner, Neil Gaiman, and Frank Miller.

Yeah, he's one of the great comic book writers today. Couldn't write a movie to save his life (the ROBOCOP flick he wrote was the worst-written of the series), but he sure knows what works for a comic book.

I haven't read comics in a long time... but back when they took up a lot of my time, some of my favorite writers were Ron Marz (simply because of the Batman/Aliens miniseries, which was a hybrid of Batman, Predator and Aliens and a hell of a lot of fun)
and Doug Moench, who in my opinion is one of the best guys ever to write Batman - he totally nailed the character as a brooding, dark figure... and he had Kelley Jones' demented gothic artwork to back him up... I had a lot of fun and I think it was after they left the book that I started giving up on comics.

A word of advice to James Logan:

Don't be surprised if you're disappointed by KS's Black Cat run. The dialogue of the story is incredibly sub-par compared to his other superhero comics and non-superhero comics, but it's a kinda fun ride nonetheless. Don't expect anything like his DareDevil work, though.
