I think PS2 is better and will continue to be better for awhile. All X-BOX has is Halo. Seriously, my friend has an X-Box and we always try to rent games but theres nothing to get!

PS2 has many proven kick ass games (GTA, Final Fantasy) and has better third party support.

If I were you I'd get a Gamecube. It started out slowly but now it's getting its shit together. Metroid Prime, Rogue Leader, Mario Sunshine, Resident Evil, Zelda, Star Fox. Never count out Nintendo. Plus it's cheaper.

All depends what you want in a system I suppose. I mean if you are looking from a tremendous library of games to choose from then I would go with a PS2. I am an XBox owner and I must say this was the obvious choice for me cos of the hard drive mainly. The games arn't always there as with PS2 (Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy etc.) but 2003 looks like it will be shaping to be a good year for the XBox with titles like Doom III, Ninja Gaiden and Dino Crisis 3. And if your all about online gaming then I could only recommend an Xbox to you. But the choice is yours my friend, take a look at the games and what games are coming out and find out for yourself, because it doesn't matter really what the system can do but what you want to do with the system (play online, play rpgs etc.).

it's clear that ps2 has more games and possibly better, but for some reason, i've been liking my xbox more than my ps2 as of late. but for now, i recommend the ps2 for you.

hardware - xbox
game library - ps2
online play - xbox

i dont know what other options you wanna weigh when buying the system but its up to you, i mean any ps2 owner is probably gonna tell you to get a ps2 where, with me owning an xbox all i can say is xbox all the way.

I like the X-Box cash would be spent on a PS2. Both are really powerful systems, both have amazing graphics and such, but PS2 has more fun games. I know Halo is a great game, I know Splinter Cell is a great game(It's coming out for PS2 in March), I have played quite a few good games on X-Box, but there are too many great games on PS2. So many, it's hard to keep up. Give X-Box some time, I'm sure there will be more good games on the market, but the king is still PS2.

i own both systems... and both have good games. it just depends on what kind of games you like?

if you are a graphics junkie the choice is easy, get an XBOX. but if graphics are not that important get a ps2. and the ps2 just has a ton of games available and it`s backwards compadible with ps1 games! so you can play both ps2 and ps1 games on it!

no... the xbox DVD player is better! the only bad thing about the xbx DVD player is you must buy a remote in order to use the DVD player and it costs $30 (you might be able to get one used for a much cheaper price) it is a wireless remote but some gamers would prefer to use this money for a game.

if you plan to watch DVD`s on your game system and want the best quality get an XBOX.

Niether DVD player is very good. As in, $60 low end DVD players beat them. But to each his own I guess. My vote is for PS2, as it has a much better library.. I would say there are about 3 or 4 "very good" to "great" exclusive games for the xbox.

Let me think.. Halo, Buffy, the new Indiana Jones game...

well i`ve never had any problems with my xbx DVD player. and the picture quality is top-notch but it doesn`t have all of the features that a high DVD player has.

Eh, I recently got a better look at the xbox DVD player in action. It is better then the PS2s. However, it is about as good as a $50-$60 apex, and I would hardly consider it top notch... Our Sony and the xbox are easily distinguishable.

well top-notch may be a little out of place... of course compared to high end DVD players the xbx is not "that" good.

to start with, the gamecubes graphics are just flat out better than anything PS2 or xbox has produced.
Eh? Splinter Cell? I do consider the Resident Evil games to be on par with Splinter Cell however. Halo 2 looks like it will beat anything thus far, based on the demo.

I will definetly agree the GCN is a better system then the xbox. Way more games I like. I don't like the GCNs controller as much as the xboxs though (the left analog is better then the xboxs, but the c-stick is terrible - both d-pads aren't great, 4 action buttons on GCN are better, but not by a lot).
