I can honestly say that I don't fancy any of those blokes. I don't find them the least bit attractive...not my type, I suppose. Here are my ranks (out of 10):

Johnny Depp: Talent, 9; Looks, 7. I love him in the Burton films he's done.

Edward Norton: Talent, 9; Looks, 5. Excellent in "Fight Club", but I don't warm to actors who have a rep for being temperamental/difficult.

Brad Pitt: Talent, 4; Looks, 3. Jennifer Aniston can keep him.

Leonardo DiCaprio: Talent, 3; Looks, 1. Though the first rank may change once I've got round to seeing "Catch Me If You Can" and "Gangs of New York".

Tobey Maguire: Talent, 6; Looks, 5. Don't really have much of an opinion about him.

Tom Cruise: Talent, 4; Looks, 2. I worked on one of his films several years ago, and he redefined the title 'Over-indulged Spoilt Brat'. I'm hoping he's matured somewhat since then.

Johnny Depp. Talent: 9 Looks: 9. A bit inconsistent, but after seeing (ooh and hearing him) in Chocolat, he can get the squeak outta my door anytime (shame on you, tis a quote from the film!).

Edward Norton Talent: 10 Looks: 8...something oddly handsome about the guy, extremely talented, and in such things as Fight Club and Everyone Says I Love you....extremely good lookin'.

Brad Pitt Talent: 8 Looks: 7...not really my tpe, but undoubtedly "good looking". Good actor, he's greatly improved since Thelma and Louise.

Leonardo DiCaprio Talent: 8 Looks: 9...he's extremely shaggable in Catch me if you Can and Titanic. Not my normal type at *all*, but very talented and at times adorable.

Tobey Maguire Talent: 8 Looks: 7...cute kid. Top notch actor. Gorgeous? No. But, if given the opportunity, I'd give him a go.

Tom Cruise Talent: 7 Looks: 6...stunningly hot in Magnolia (I know, I'm odd), and his talent really showed through. Otherwise, I can do without the bloke's looks. I think he's talented, though, regardless of what people say.

Sure I like actors to be versatile. I'm way more impressed by actors who pick a variety of roles e.g. think of Brad Pitt in Kalifornia and compare that to say Ocean's 11. I think all 6 actors on the list are really talented but I do get bored of seeing Tobey Maguire playing the typical Tobey Maguire type role. I have Ed Norton further down my list than most people have, purely because I don't like his films that much.

Johnny Depp: One of the most talented and diverse actors out there. He easily handles the mainstream pictures, but it is choices in the less obvious type of films that have cemented his career.

Edward Norton: He's always impressed me in his roles, specifically "Fight Club", "Everyone Says I Love You" and "Primal Fear". I have heard that he isn't exactly the nicest person off screen, but that hans't affected my opinion of him as a decent and underrated actor. Plus his girlfriend is goregeous to boot.

Tom Cruise: Has his good days and his bad days in reagrds to cinema. His divorce from Nicole Kidman onto his dating Penelope Cruz made him the bad guy of that breakup, but you can't deny he's talented. "Vanilla Sky" wasn't that great, but "Minority Report" made up for it. Roles in films like "Far and Away"and "Days Of Thunder" aren't much to write home about, whereas "Jerry maguire" and "Interview With The Vampire" really showed his determination and diversity.

Brad Pitt: There's no denying the fact that Mr Pitt will always be considered one of Hollywood's sexiest actors, but thankfully he's got the talent to back him up. From the quiet, unnoticed role of Death in "Meet Joe Black" to the crazy turn in "12 Monkeys", Pitt has strived in trying all things. "Kalifornia", "True Romance" and "Thelma and Louise" are the kind of films he probably won't dabble in much anymore, but at least he has impressive and different films like that on his resume and "Ocean's Eleven" really showed off why he's such a popular entertainer. As well, I think Pitt's appeal is also due to his down to earth persona that he pus across. And his wife is a hottie.

Leonardo DiCaprio: Roles in films like "Titanic" and "The Beach" didn't do him much justice, after really showing his acting talents in underrated gems "The Basketball Diaries" and "This Boy's Life". His turn in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" proved he's more than just a pretty boy and thankfully he didn't disappoint in "Catch Me If You Can", cashing in on his young looks, and "Gangs Of New York".

Tobey Maguire: Magure was the kind of actor that slipped under the radar. "The Ice Storm" and "The Wonder Boys" were critically acclaimed, but Magure was never the main focus, but now with his unlikely, but impressivley executed role in "Spider-Man", Maguire is likely to become a major Hollywood star.

Whether you like him or not, the boy can act and then some. Ignore Titanic and the cult of his celebrity and you have a great little performer.

Over-rated but likeable. The Ice Storm and Wonder Boys are great movies, but Tobey, in such esteemed company, is over-shadowed at present. Give it a few years. Give him a few scars.

6. Tom Cruise 8/10

Matinee idol. Therefore, sometimes he does not appear to be very versatile. Recent changes in his output have seen me liking the actor a whole lot more (I have absolutely none of his early output).

Looks wise, I am not impressed with any of them to a degree where I could say, 'yeah, gotta admit he's gorgeous'. Tom Cruise looked fantastic in Magnolia and, though it sucks ass, MI:2. Brad Pitt has some fantastic 'looks' sometimes, other times he is quite ugly (I thought so in Fight Club and Spy Game).

If I were gay, I would go for Tobey Maguire. He looks like he would be gentle enough. Heh-heh. I think I have thought about this topic too closely. Nevermind.

Edward Norton may have decided to take the commercial road and let his acting suffer. I found it difficult to completely watch Death to Smoochy.
