March Madness, anyone?

Ok, so all my favorite teams are out of the tournament. The U of O, Missouri, Cal, U-Conn...there's not a whole lot left. I'm now rooting for Arizona, and I think they could pull it off.

Anyone else following the men's NCAA basketball tourney? Predictions as to who will win this year?

Well in the first round the underdog's shocked some people, but since then the favorites have pretty much taken control. I guess I'd have to cheer for Michigan State since they are the only Big Ten team left, as far as who I think will win it, the Kansas Jayhawks. I figured if the got past Duke they would have a great shot at it.

My bracket has gone to hell, but I don't care now. I'm just having fun waching the games from now on. I had a fit when Uconn, one of my Final 4 teams, lost. But I am over it now, and ready for some more exciting matchups this weekend!

Why? Duke's not that great anyway.

Also, I had UConn going to the Final Four.

Yeah, they weren't their usual #1 seed, but I figured being a #3 would take some of the pressure off and Coach K would have his boy's ready. I figured the winner of that game would take down Arizona and go to the final four.

Thank god Michigan St. won yesterday, I would have been deeply saddened if Maryland had won. Both of the night-cappers were great yesterday, and today's games look good as well.

Me too. I thought they could pull it out in the end yesterday, but they just couldn't hang on. They deserved to lose anyways.

HOLY MACKEREL!

Marquette trounces Kentucky! Wow! I'm just dumbfounded. This is the biggest upset in the tourney so far!

All right, who are these Marquette people? First they eliminate one of my fave teams, Missouri, and just now they totally punished no.1 seeded Kentucky. I'm almost thinking they could go all the way? Should be interesting to see how far they get.

I'm now hoping Kansas kills Marquette. My bracket is definitely shot to shit.

They slipped under the radar. I don't think anybody outside of Milwaukee thought they would even smell the final four, Al McGuire must be looking down and smiling.

Do you think Marquette has what it takes to beat Kansas? I think Kansas will be ready for them, and they'll probably win. But I bet Marquette will give them a good run for the money.

Btw, don't listen to my predictions, my predictions have a way of jinxing things. I just jinxed Arizona. lol. It never fails.

Man, yesterday's games were great! I loved seeing Marquette whip Kentucky and I enjoyed watching Kansas go to the final four too. Now if only MSU can beat Texas...
Here's a thought: What if all four number one seeds fail to make it to New Orleans. That'd be great.

Go Spartans!!!!!!!

At the beginning of the tourny i thought the final four would be Marquette, Arizona, Maryland, and Syracuse with The Orangemen winning it all.

I still could have 2 if Syracuse pulls the upset today.

Marquette and Kansas, Who'd'a thunk it?

Marquette, especially Dwayne Wade, played like a National Championship team against Kentucky yesterday. They played excellently, and Kentucky, my pick to win it all, just could not match up with them. A Conference USA team in the Final 4? No way! I'm still in awe of the Golden Eagles a day later.

I went out on Saturday night, so I taped the Kansas-Arizona game and watched it at about 11pm last night. That was an incredible game. It went back in forth, and both teams looked great at points and looked lousy other times. Both went on huge runs too, but Kansas just had a little too much for the Wildcats at the end.

Well, my dream Cats-Cats matchup was ruined, but it never works out perfectly anyways. Go Oklahoma and MSU today!

If Oklahoma wants to make it to New Orleans they have a hill to climb. Down 30-20 at the half.

I'm failry certain Texas is gonna fall to MSU today. Spartans are one of my favorite teams and I hope they can pull it off. My pick for the championship is MSU vs Marquette .

Wow, State has really gotten fucked over. If this was played anywhere else other then Texas they would have smoked Texas. What a bunch of BS.

Texas did have just a slight homecourt advantage there, eh? Sheeshh, was there even one Spartan fan in that crowd?

Well, we're on to the Final Four, and against my better judgement, I'll make some predictions for the semi-finals.

Here's who I think WILL win the next games:
Kansas and Texas

And here's who I'd actually LIKE to see win:
Marquette and Syracuse

Ultimately I'd like to see Marquette win it all, but I'm just not sure if they have enough experience to go the distance. Either way, next weekend should be an exciting one!

My Spartans are going home.

The good news is that they're a really young team and weren't supposed to make it to the elite 8. Next year they can set their goals higher and maybe get another title!

Now I want Marquette to win it all.

Marquette, Syracuse, Texas, Kansas

I gues none of that "experience wins champoinships" crap was true. I'm excited for the games next week, and I'm rooting for Marquette and Syracuse.

Anyway, I think the NCAA needs to rethink this "home court advantage" thing. 3 of the 4 teams who won regionals played in front of a stadium with mostly their fans. Marquette is in Wisconsin, and their regional was in Minneapolis, so they were much closer to that than Kentucky. Texas of course had the advantage in San Antonio. And Syracuse is right down the road from Albany, home of their East Regional final.

Texas and Kentucky should have switched regions, and Syracuse should not have played in the East region...

WOW, that's kind of a surprise, but then again not really. They won't put up with losing there, trying to follow Dean Smith is comparable to what went on at UCLA in the '80s, well hell, what's still going on right now eh Greb. Maybe it's time to look outside the Tar Heel family for someone else, I don't know?

I'm still crying over the U of O Ducks. Oh well, at least Luke Jackson and Luke Ridnour are only juniors, they'll get another shot next year. After that though, U of O's b-ball team will probably be nothing to write home about. Much like the U of O's football team after Joey Harrington graduated.

Oh yeah...

GO MARQUETTE!

Anybody think Roy Williams will take the North Carolina job? I personally don't think it will happen, they asked him about it in an interview conducted earlier this week and he denied having been contacted and refused to speak on it (as well he should, as not to bring focus away from his team). He turned it down when it was open a few years ago, I don't see why he'd go there now, but you never know.

That really bugs me that they might try to make some contact during the week of the final four, you see it in football also where teams try to get coaches interested during the week of an important bowl game.
