Italian Seria A & England Premiereship

I dont know if there any Football Fans here .. I am a big Fan of the English Premiership and the Italian Seria A .. what teams do you support , which players do you like .. there seems to be no discussion about the football leagues , so lets talk about them

The Standings (League Tables)

I support AC Milan and Man United .. what about you ??

Re: Italian Serie A & England Premiereship

I support Milan too! (As for the Premiership I'm an Arsenal fan). Do you think we still have a shot at winning? Who are your favorite Milan and Serie A players?
What about the Champions League? Who do you think will win it?
Quarter final matchups are:
Valencia- Inter
Juve- Barcellona
Milan- Ajax
Real Madrid- Man Utd.

... BTW I don't understand why outside Italy people say AC Milan instead of Milan and InterMilan instead of Inter...

Because that's the way it's been taught to us.

I don't really follow the Serie A, but I do follow the British leagues...I'm a Chelsea fan myself. Looks like we might have a chance at a Euro-spot next year, since this year there has been more scorers for the team than just one guy. Hopefully next year we'll be even closer to the top spot.

I'm a big fan of Shevchenko too but this year he hasn't been doing very well... he's had a few injuries and is having problems finding a place in the starting 11... but then it would be wrong to take off Inzaghi because he's been scoring a lot of goals this season...

My predictions for the Champions League:
Milan- Ajax - Milan should (and hopefully will) get through fairly easily
Valencia- Inter - I hope Valencia wins (I hate Inter)
Juve- Barcelona - Juve would be my favorite, but it depends because they might choose to put more effort into the Serie A, which would favour Barcelona
Real Madrid- Man Utd. - too close to call... maybe Real

Semifinals:
Milan-Valencia - unfortunately I don't see us winning
Juve- Real - Real would win

Final: Valencia- Real (again) with yet another Real win...

I call AC Milan "Milan", and Inter Milan "Inter"! I think most people 'round here call them by these names.

I don't really follow Serie A any more. Since Channel 4 stopped showing live games on a Sunday afternoon.. bah.

Arsenal are a bunch of chimps, so I don't want them to win the league. Wenger is such a dour looking chimp. I'd like Man U to win the league, since I've always liked Man U and Sir Alex is a fellow Weegie.

This season has been pretty shitty for us, we've put in some good performances this season but it hasn't been working for us! Hopefully GT will use Allback and Vassell against Arsenal tomorrow and they can try and reproduce some of their midweek heroics. Things ain't going too good for us at the moment, we've got Arsenal, West Ham (who are fighting for survival and doing a good job of it!), Chelsea and Newcastle all coming up. We're gonna survive, but I ain't sure if we'll stay above Shitty City

u neva no tho m8 lets put it like that!

my predictions:

ARSENAL = 0
WEST HAM = 3
CHELSEA = 1
SUNDERLAND = 3 (must win game)
NEWCASTLE = 0
LEEDS = 3

Just enough 2 keep us above BLUES and the drop!

I've just read that Joey Gudjonsson is gonna be in the squad tomorrow by the looks of things I see the rest of our season being something like this:

(H) Arsenal - 1 - If we put in a performance like we did against United then we may nick something
(A) West Ham - 3 - We beat them 4-1 at our place, and although they're looking good, we'll beat them again IMO
(H) Chelsea - 0 - We won't be able to stop them
(A) Newcastle United - 0 - See above...
(A) Everton - 1 - A 3-2 win back in September at our place was good for us, but playing at Goodison will be a toughie
(H) Sunderland - 3 - They're going down, we're not!
(A) Leeds United - 1 - Both teams fighting for survival, draw at Elland Road

03-03-03 didn't happen to the true Villa fans lol.

From Yahoo! UK

Friday April 4, 02:58 PM

Aston Villa v Arsenal

Aston Villa are boosted by the return of Joey Gudjonsson for their tough home clash with Arsenal.
The Iceland international has missed the last two games due to an ankle injury and a one-match ban but will now return.

However, Dion Dublin serves the second game of a three-match suspension.

Full Premiership Score Roundup:

Bolton Wanderers 2 - 0 Manchester City
Manchester United 4 - 0 Liverpool
Aston Villa 1-1 Arsenal
Charlton Athletic 1-6 Leeds United
Middlesbrough 3-0 West Bromwich Albion
Southampton 1-1 West Ham United
Sunderland 1-2 Chelsea
Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Birmingham City

Some shocks today! Leeds thumping Charlton 6-1 moves them into 14th, above Villa (who drew 1-1 with Arsenal) by goal difference only. Man United demolishing Liverpool, well I didn't see that one coming. The top two teams are so close right now, separated by goal difference (Arsenal +33, United +28) and they're facing off against each other very soon. The end to this season is going to be a good one, so close, and one mistake could cost either Arsenal or United dearly.

Oh, and I've got one final thing to say... Tottenham Hotspur 2 - 1 Birmingham City!!

It pleased me as well, being a Villa fan there's nothing better than seeing the scum, erm Blues, losing. Keane's goal was classic , Poyet's goal was brilliant, left footed volley straight into the back of the net

Well I'm gonna grab a meat pie and add my few shillings worth as a Liverpool supporter I was very pissed off with the 4-0 loss.
I am not saying we wouldn't have lost but the ref should be boiled in oil he gave away a penalty against Biscan that left me seething.
He also sent Hypia when it should have been a yellow card......ARSEHOLE .
I don't espacily like Arsenal but they MUST pip Man U to the post I feel they will and then at the end of the season Liverpool can strengthen.
Hopefully everyone will write us off agian and we can pull the rug from under them...well here's hoping.

Ouch

I partly agree with you, at Goodison we didn't put in a vintage performance. There was a lot wrong: our central midfield was rarely in it and O'Brien a right-back WTH?

Not meaning to sound cliched but there was some shoddy refereeing and some bad sportsmanship: poor Bernard's lucky he can walk It's a bad way to lose our title hopes, but our squad looks in good shape for next season

We still have to consolidate our CL's hopes and there's the small matter of thumping the Mackems in their backyard. Hopefully we'll end the season with some good performances

I still fancy Man U for the title: I think they'll bounce back from tonight's beating.

It's prediction time baby!

Premiership

Manchester United v Newcastle United
I would love to see Newcastle beat United at Old Trafford, it'd really put a smile back on my face and Newcastle's chances of winning the Prem would be right back on track. Unfortunately, I see Man United getting another win this week.

Verdict: Manchester United win

Birmingham City v Sunderland
Blues can be tough to crack, and bottom team Sunderland will really be up for this, but I see another win for the scum

Verdict: Birmingham Shitty win

Blackburn Rovers v Charlton Athletic
This is probably gonna be the least exciting match being played IMO, both teams will play a good game and Charlton are gonna wanna win after last week's 6-1 thrashing by Leeds, but Blackburn will be up to the challenge.

Verdict: Draw

Chelsea v Bolton Wanderers
Chelsea have had a pretty good season and are up in the top 5, whereas Bolton are fighting for survival. This is gonna be an easy game for Ranieri's side.

Verdict: Chelsea win

Leeds United v Tottenham Hotspur
Although Leeds are gonna be looking for another win after last weekend's 6-1 demolition of Charlton, Tottenham are also going to be going after another win after last week's defeat of Birmingham. This could be one of the better games of the weekend IMO.

Verdict: Tottenham win

Liverpool v Fulham
After suffering a 4-0 killing from Man United last weekend, Gerrard Houllier's Liverpool will want to take the pain out on whoever gets in their way. This weekend it's Fulham who are going to Anfield, they'll be leaving with nothing.

Verdict: Liverpool win

Manchester City v Middlesbrough
I've got a feeling that this is gonna be a pretty close match. Both teams are around the mid-table position and will put on a decent game. Nothing great, both teams will probably get a well earnt point from this match.

Verdict: Draw

West Bromwich Albion v Everton
Everton have had an unbelievable season, whereas Albion have failed to impress. Megson's side will start out on top, but as Everton get settled in, Albion will start to lose out and Everton will hurt them for it.

Verdict: Everton win

West Ham United v Aston Villa
The Hammers have had a few good results lately, Villa have had some good too, both drawing their last games. West Ham aren't going to be as easy for Villa as they were at Villa Park in November (4-1 to Villa ), but I only see things getting worse for the Hammers.

Verdict: Villa win (and not just because I support them!)
