Aye. If you haven't bought or heard Five Leaves Left, that should be your next item on the to-buy lists. In my opinion, that is his best work.

I bought...

CDs:

[Esmerine - If Only a Sweet Surrender to the Nights to Come Be True]

[Mogwai - Young Team]

[New Order - Substance]

Vinyl:

[Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures]

[Lightning Bolt - Wonderful Rainbow]

Favourably. It's a slightly different beast but Josh Homme ably proves that Queens Of The Stone Age is whatever he wants it to be and whatever he wants it to be it'll be worth our precious time (and money). If you want some scores...here you go.

Quees Of The Stone Age - 4/5
Rated R - 4.5/5
Songs For The Deaf - 4.5/5
Lullabies To Paralyze - 4.5/5

I'd say it's a lot more darker than SFTD. It's not really as hard rockin either. It's kind of split into two different albums actually. The first seven songs are the good ol' hard rockin QOTSA that was on SFTD, but on the other seven songs their are like Stoner Epics or something. It's damn good, it just takes a couple listens to fully appreciate. I'd say Songs For The Deaf is a bit better, as was Rated R, but this is still worth a buy.

My scores

Queens Of The Stone Age - 7/10
Rated R - 8.5/10
Songs For The Deaf - 9/10
Lullabies To Paralyze - 8/10

"Led Zeppelin" - Led Zeppelin

"Kill 'Em All" - Metallica

Note: This is actually a re-purchase. I used to have this album, but I lost it, and I couldn't find it. Therefore, I purchased it again.

"Straylight Run" - Straylight Run

Antony and the Johnsons "self titled"
Rarely do i find musicians where time stops every single song I hear. Antony does it with every flutter of his voice.

4th avenue Jones: Stereo an evolution of hiprock soul

A fun album period.
