To each his own, but I think Gallo should stick to directing and acting. Making music just ain't his thing.

Suicide-Self Titled album(I payed $30 for this album, which is the most I've ever payed for any cd. Considering it's out of print and sells for as much as $500 I think I got a steal on it.)

When you guys say you bought these albums, are you saying you did so digitally or physical CD's/vinyl's? Or both?

I only buy cd's. Although I am a music fanatic, I don't need it every waking moment in my life on mp3 format on my ipod to listen to at the gym or while I'm jogging or whatever else normal people do these days. I went through a brief two year phase where I'd buy nothing but vinyl. It was embedded and pre programmed in my mind to put on a vinyl(that sharper more clear sound that you can't get through a cd)while I would write lyrics for the band that I was in. Just playing strictly vinyl as a reference or background noise while I was writing. Over the time spand of 15 years(starting when I was 13)I've managed to accumulate over 700 cd's. Between my wife and me we have well over a thousand.

Invisible Stars by Everclear. Pretty damned good, basically the band going back to their 90's sound. Nothing dynamic or earth shattering, but that's definitely notta bad thing when it comes to one of my favourite bands!

That's fucking awesome man. Good for you! I'm really starting to get back into CD's myself. I don't mind MP3's/streaming music.... But I do like to have something tangible moreso, ya know?

Got to download the new Queens of the Stone Age album, ... Like Clockwork, 2 weeks before its drop date. It's surprisingly... mellow, for a QOTSA album.

I too am not a J. Cole fan, but I listened to a few tracks off of Born Sinner and wasn't impressed (sounded like a generic hip-hop album with just some unique song titles). The only reason my icon is what it is is because I love the album cover versus Yeezus' overly simplistic cover.

And I won't call it album of the year until Jay-Z releases his new album next month so I can decide.

What's your favorite tracks on the album? Mine, in this order, are Hold My Liquor, Blood on the Leaves, and Black Skinhead.

Blood on the Leaves, Bound 2, BSH. Yeah I'm stoked for MCHG, Jay is a better rapper than Kanye but Kanye is a more passionate and artistic, I got a vibe from the Samsung vid that Jay is copying Kanye trying to do a similar sound and similar promotion.

I agree. Kanye is definitely more versatile in his artistic style, willing to combine various genres and conflicting sounds to create something seemingly utterly unique whereas Jay-Z is more lyrically superior.

I actually think Born Sinner is pretty damn good. Was not a J. Cole fan up until this point, but I was pretty impressed. New York Times, Forbidden Fruit, Power Trip, Niggas Know, and Let Nas Down are all pretty solid tracks. There are also a few others that I think I will warm up to. I dig Yeezus as well. Blood on the Leaves, Bound 2, and Black Skinhead are great.

Young The Giant- Mind Over Matter

This a great up and coming band and their second album doesn't disappoint, (IMO). Overall, I'd have to say that I think this release might even be stronger than the first release. One of the band's greatest strengths is how they don't always pander to the typical verse, chorus, verse, chorus structure of most pop and rock songs. They thrive on dynamics and creativity and a strong collective sound. My current favorite tracks are Anagram, About Time, Daydreamer, Firelight,Teachers, and Waves. There really isn't a bad track on the album, it flows really well.

9/10
