I just picked up "Memento" and "Exit Wounds" I have only been able to watch the first half of "Memento" so far but it is very entertaining. I saw "Exit Wounds" in the theater and I thought it was Seagals best movie since "Under Siege"

Just picked up The Omen box set.

The first film is still a masterpiece, and worth the asking price for the commentary by Richard Donner - I'm going to pick up Superman on the strength of his commentary - the best I've heard so far (and I've got close to 50 DVDs).

A couple of good documentaries too, but haven't listened to the commentaries on Damien or The Final Conflict yet - will repor back once I have.
</font>
The Superman Commentary with Donner and Tom Mankewitz(I forget the spelling) is absolutely as entertaining as the movie. Some of the stuff is hilarious. It's great to listen to two old guys reminisce about making the movie. The extras on that disc are superb too. You'll know everything about superman by the time you get through all the extras.

Anyway, I own exactly 45 dvd's since February of 98', and I consider that good because I haven't always had a job, and I'm very particular about the ones I buy.
Most recent 5:
Close Encounters(GREAT!!)
Unbreakable(GREAT)
Cast Away(GREAT)
Crouching Tiger(GREAT)
Pay it Forward(Disappointing)

Over the last week I bought

Joe Dirt
Say It Isn't So
Josie and the Pussycats...which I admit I liked very much...funny and catchy songs
and The Professional...Great movie

I was looking through stores for The Professional and found and older version for about 20 bucks. It didn't have anything really in the way of special features other then a couple trailers which was to bad because besides the movie I enjoy the special features also because they let a person learn more about the movies. I love the commentaries personally. Anyway I then searched a little more and ended up finding somekind of international directors cut or something of The Professional and it had more special features and I thought cool this is what I'm looking for...that is until I saw the price. They wanted 40 bucks for a single movie what the hell is that about I mean it's a good movie but damn 40 bucks...the CD better be made of gold for that price. I was forced to settle with the older version which was disappointing...*sigh* to be rich.

the latest dvd I bought was Frequency because i liked it pretty well and i got it on sale. The last ones i returned to Netflix were
Il Postino- It was wonderful and i felt really stupid for haven't having seen it sooner
Double Indemity-a great albeit somewhat dated thriller w/ a chilling climax
and
Rebel W/out a Cause- i'm a huge James Dean fan but for some reason I stayed away from this one because the content didnt interest me but it was perfectly acted so i enjoyed it.

No EL_PHANTAZMO, I do not live at home with my parents. I am a grown 30 year old married man with my own family. I have collected DVD's since they first came out. I am a collector, I enjoy watching movies, and my friends and family enjoy coming over and watching them. I am builing a home theater in my house. DVD's are a hobby and I dont buy them all for myself. With 3 other people living with me, I buy movies for them as well.

I got 89 dvds total and my most recent purchases were kick ass super deals. "Night of the Living Dead," (original) for only $5 at K-Mart. It has a great transfer for what the price and packaging, nothing special on it, but hey, $5 is worth it. Also got "Idle Hands" for $9.99 at K-mart also. I thought the movie was okay. Reason I got it was for the features. It has a commentary track that includes Seth Green, which has to be funny as hell. And I picked up "A Knight's Tale" for $16.99 at Best Buy (greatest store on earth). Advice for people who don't know: Go out a buy your new release dvds at Best Buy the first week, 'cuz they have the greatest prices. Also check at your local K-mart for kick-ass deals.

I just got Se7en: Platinum Edition for $12.00 at half.com. Pretty happy about that because it was in good condition. If you can find a seller with good feedback (its pretty much an ebay type marketplace with set prices), you should try using it. There is a link for half.com in the main page.
