Your Favorite "Homage Scene"!

So what's yours, ThereWolf's would have to be
the Ben Hur chariot race homage in The Phantom Menace, The Pod Race!

And:

The ending of the animated Metropolis, a great, bizarre, and hilarious homage to Dr. Strangelove Or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb, when the Ziggurat crumbles to the tune of Ray Charles' I Can't Stop Loving You.

THere's a great visual quote of the famous Odessa Steps sequence from Battleship Potemkim (eisenstein) in Terry Gilliam's Brazil (and in one of the Naked Gun movies, too, but that was less impressive).

I think the meta-discussions about the Death Star and contractors in Clerks can count as an homage, since it captures how thickly our pop-cultural vocabulary is filled with SW.

ACtually, I think a lot of the best visual quotes can be found in the Simpson's archives. I can't wait for the rest of the seasons to be released on DVD!

and also in Untouchable. The Naked Gun was actually spoofing Untouchables witch was referencing Potemkim.

Kevin Smith paying homage to Jaws in Mallrats was pretty cool.
