 SPAWN Firstly, Batman is a fucking square. Like someone said previously he is not a superhero. He is a man who uses toys. That said, I loved Batman Begins. But in terms of character complexity and total badassness, there can only be one super anti-hero and that is the man pictured above. The movie sucked but watch the first season of the animated series and you will love this guy.

I've always leaned towards the characters that are "real" people with fucked up problems, and a ton of kick ass-ness. So my vote(s) go to Batman and The Punisher. Guys you just don't want to fuck with.

I go Batman for the whole "tortured soul" angle.
Parents killed when he was a kid. Can't get close to anyone because they find out his identity and they have some crazed clown trying to kill them. Add the criminals with their own tortured souls, which drove them to crime and you have a look at how our world really is and how it would affect a man who decided to stand up against it. Superman? Very close. Orphaned alien, equally important secret identity to keep. Except for the darkness, these two guys' stories almost mirror one another. They both chose to stand up against crime but have to limit themselves from truly showing what they are to keep doing what they're doing. Spider Man "With great power comes great responsibility" Nuff said.

i've always dug batman the most, and he got my vote, because out of those choices he's my favorite. but i'm also in agreement with those who say he's technically not a superhero. he's not. he has no powers. it's like calling blankman a superhero. batman's simply a crime fighter.
as for my favorite with super powers, juggernaut anybody?
