Schmoes Choice for Game of the Year 2005

Resident Evil 4 [GC]

Title speaks for itself...would have preferred to make a poll for this topic. You can break down your favorite game for each system or just choose an overall winner.

Having only owned GameCube, Xbox and 360 this year but not that many games, I'll choose my overall winner as...

BEST. GAME. EVER.

I've played a lot of games this year (not RE4 though), but the most original and enoyable was:

::sigh:: Yes.

In the words of my favorite reviewer Greg Kasavin of GameSpot: "It's like a game that time warped from the future...games have no business being this good."

This is tough. I loved Resi 4 (although it didnt feel like a Resi game at times) but MGS3: Snake Eater is my fave of 2005. Tough choice as I also really enjoyed Burnout Revenge and The Warrirors.

Really? I honestly feel sorry for anybody who hasn't got to play Half-Life 2 on a top end PC, but had to play the horribly toned down Xbox version. So much so that before somebody bought it for Xbox, I invited them to play it on my PC instead of wasting 50 bucks and they thanked me for it

i borrowed it and completed it in two days. those two days kicking back in comfort with a couple of joint on the widescreen was a blast. i think the xbox version was a success pushed the box to its limits and im grateful for that. i'd rather not play games on my small pc screen even if the graphics are slightly better

The sad thing is, it didn't push the Xbox to the limits. Valve rushed to get it out and it suffered because of it. It could have been just as beautiful on the PC and had half of the lagging (the reason why I hate it on Xbox), but they rushed it. And for game like HL2, I plug my PC up to my widescreen HDTV and use my wireless keyboard and my mouse

Good for you son. I still had a blast playing it as for Fry Cry. Both good fun for no cash spent

Agreed. Far Cry: Instincts for Xbox, while it does have some differences from the PC version that made me skeptical, more than made up for it with the new additions. Using those traps on guards was so much damn fun...
And, btw, I stopped being called "son" a couple years ago
