Smallville Season 9

Ok so here's a link to a sneak preview of the new season of Smallville coming in September. It's pretty shitty but good enough to where you get a pretty good idea of how awesome it's gonna be.

So discuss what you saw! And what does everybody want to go down in this new season?

Gotta love comic con videos. The fangirl screaming was hilarious.

I am looking forward to this season. Last season started out great and despite the anti climactic ending and terrible Lana episodes it turned out pretty well. I can't believe this show has made it 9 years!

I found the Comic-con trailer in slightly better quality(Spoiler warning!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acf0V3QljmY

The last shot was pure gold, awesome trailer!!!!

BTW Erica Durance (Lois Lane) will appear in 18 episodes this season, up from her usual half dozen or so, while Justin(Oliver) Cassidy(Tess) and Callum(Zod) will each appear in 16.

Interesting that Green Arrow will be appearing in so many episodes. He acted like such a douche at the end of last season I wasn't sure what his fate would be concerning his friendship with Clark.

But I am VERY happy that Erica Durance will be in more episodes. She was my favorite thing about last season so that should be great.

PLEASE let this be the last season...from the looks of the trailer (and Clark's tights) it probably will be.

Good news on more Lois...I can't get enough of her

I dont know Vong I've read that they are wanting to go into season 10 as well. If this season goes well I wouldn't mind seeing one more. But yeah I'm pumped that we get more Lois, it's also great that Tess and Oliver are in quite a few episodes these season too.

Season 8 was terrible, I gotta wonder if they can recover from it. However Geoff Johns is writing an episode of S9 which makes me mucho happy!

Season 8 started out great I think...they dropped the ball after Lana's first episode back.

The worst thing they could have done was bring her back. The season for me was such a train wreck

The only really good episode was Legion, such a disappointing Season

I think the worst thing about last season for me was how they utilized Lex. I think it would have been better if they just mentioned him through the whole season. They didn't need to go all darth vader with him and now he's supposedly dead. I dont know how their going to write a satisfying enough explanation to that.

That was also poorly handled, and it all just made me realize how much I missed Michael Rosenbaum on the show. I dunno it hasn't been the same since Season 3, but meh I'll keep watching lol. Kinda lookin forward to seeing Brian Austin Green on the show, I thought it was pretty good in Sarah Connor

He surprised me a lot on that show. On 90210 he was such a scrawny little bitch, but he was actually convincingly tough in the Sarah Connor Chronicles. Too bad that show didn't get renewed.

Smallville is my biggest guilty pleasure on television.

So glad I abandoned ship long ago. I've always thought Metallo would have made a great Smallville villain as opposed to, say.... Doomsday? But yeah, that pic looks pretty lame....

They handled Doomsday so badly, urgh. S8 was a mess.

Looking back on Season 8, it did show alot of promise at the start. But by the end they totally fracked everything up with regards to Doomsday. Besides Doomsday though, the other characters were handled very nicely. Especially Tess and Oliver.

Season 8 really was a mess, lol. I thought Doomsday would've been a cool character/villain, but they really messed that up.

I've heard that the reason they keep on adding more seasons is mainly because it's the CW's only really profitable show. I know, shocking actually. The only reason I still watch this show is because I want to see it end.

And honestly, we need Lex. If anything just for a few episodes.

I'm just tired of al of this side track BS. Get with it already and give me some superman!

Well, I wouldn't call it trolling but there is really no need for anyone to say something like "I can't believe you people watch this show..." It is unnecessarily antagonistic and condescending. Let's all try and respect each other's opinions and tastes.

Do you REALLY believe that?

I respect everyone's opinion, but I really don't see how any self respecting Superman fan whose watched since the very first season could still watch this show, despite how woefully awful its become. Is it a love for Tom Welling, or a love for all things Superman?

P.S. From season 4 onward, Michael Rosenbaum carried this show.

I like the inclusion of a costume, leading into a proper one, but it looks average at best.

Hopefully S9 picks up, S8 was so bad, no Rosenbaum really hurt the show and poor writing ect. I will give it a chance for sure though.

I just noticed that as well! No idea at all why they moved the day. Smallville and Supernatural were perfect back to back.

I stopped watching Smallville last year because I thought it was just not good anymore for the past few seasons, but I was bored last week and rented the 8th season. I'm almost done with the season now (3 episodes left) and I'm really surprised at how good it is. I rolled my eyes when I heard they'd include Doomsday and Lex was leaving, but the way they've written him into the series was actually really clever. This might actually be my favorite season if it weren't for the exclusion of Lex.

They still need to re-name the show Metropolis and let Clark be Superman though. He's like 30 now.

Ya the show hasn't really been too much about the actual town of Smallville since Season 5. But thematically speaking the name is more about how Superman got started. What made Superman, Superman and not a show about the town of Smallville.

I actually wouldn't mind if they do make Clark Superman and just re-name the show and start new with a series about Superman being Superman. I don't get why they're so afraid to go there after using just about every major villain of Superman's who I'm pretty sure probably weren't around until after he was Superman. I know Doomsday was and then they had Bizarro, Brainiac, and now Zod and Mettalo.

While I admit I would still watch the show if they did that I doubt it will ever happen. Mostly because I am sure the actors want to move on, despite probably never reaching the same success that they have on the show.

The show has been pretty destined to end with the final scene of Clark in the Superman outfit flying away to fight crime for the very first time as Superman.

I just finished the 8th season and it was a little disappointing. The potential for the fight between Clark and Doomsday was huge, but it was too quick. I'm watching a special feature about Doomsday now and it sounds like it was almost A LOT worse until the writers realized at the last minute how stupid they were. They basically admit that at first Doomsday was going to be 100% human with just a little diamond logo on his face because they didn't want to go through the work of creating a design for his beast side.

Overall, I liked it.
I actually like this young Zod guy. Won me over.
Didn't like "The Dark Knight" Superman bit. Yes, he's trying to find himself but finding that perch with the Dark Knight themed music is just not correct.

When he dove off of the Statue of Liberty, how did he get back to the Fortress? Jor El teleported him back before he hit? He's indestructible, it's not like it would've hurt him if he hit.

And they're still having Chloe be a bitch? After everything they've been through, it isn't clear that screwing with stuff like time just causes more problems? And she plays Clark out because he won't bring back the Bowtie?

Yeah, I know, human frailties, weaknesses of the soul and all that.

Metallo. Brian Austin Green?

I don't know how to react...

Cool episode. Looks like we have some shit going down this season.
Chloe dying? Seems likely!

I'm still not 100% on what Tess's relationship is with this group. And the whole time travelling thing is giving me a headache. Hopefully things will clear up better as the season progresses.

It was his mental training. Clark commented on it afterwards to Jor-El.

So he wasn't actually falling, it was like The Matrix or something.
Clark better make sure those red and blue pills ain't kryptonite.
