I think it's brilliant that out of the five people who have filled it in, four have said that my hero Daniel Day-Lewis' performances get the top two spot.

Yeah there's a few of the 'decades best' I haven't seen but I'll post my lists soon.

I'm not as enamoured as most people are with his performance in Gangs of New York. He's excellent in it, but IMO he wasn't even the best performance of that year let alone the second of the decade (not in the top 10 at all infact IMO).

That said, his work in There Will Be Blood is unquestionably one of the VERY best of the decade.

I gave it props in two categories (direction and screenplay), but it's really just on the outskirts of the majority of the other categories. It's easily one of my favorite films of the decade. Very few films this decade were as engaging and absorbing as Into the Wild IMO.

The aforementioned Dylan Tichenor, as well as fucking THELMA SCHOONMAKER were brought in at different points in post-production to try to help Lonergan complete the film but now it's stuck in movie limbo indefinitely. Scorsese reportedly called a 2006 cut of the film a masterpiece. Hopefully this will see the light of day sometime next decade, eh?
