My marathons usually work on series. So I will generally just get a few Halloweens or a couple NOES's.

For a party. I pick movies with little story and lots of action. So you can drink and talk and only half pay attention to the TV. I have had a Halloween party at my house every year for the last 4 years or so.

The movies I showed where:

Bad Taste
Dead Alive
Land of the Dead
Evil Dead 2
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Hard to Die aka Sorority House Massacre 3
28 Weeks Later
Halloween 2
Friday the 13th part 4
Chainsaw Sally

I dont know what I am going to go with this year. Street Trash will probably be one of the flicks.

Just listen to Ep 3 of the Aith Podcast where Ammon uses my Freddys Revenge suggestion as the drinking game

Awesome, I've been waiting for this thread to pop up.

I'm pretty religious when it comes down to Halloween/Octoberthons.

First Three Weeks
I try to watch all new films I have yet to view. Even if they are crap, I just try to tear through them.

The Week Leading Up to...
Alien
Aliens
The Evil Dead
Evil Dead 2
Army of Darkness
Eyes Without a Face
Beetlejuice
Big Trouble in Little China
So I Married an Axe Murderer
A Nightmare Before Christmas
Magic
Jacob's Ladder

and...

New Hallows Eve
Black Christmas

and at midnight:
John Carpenter's
The Thing

I love how you skipped over Freddy's Dead. I, personally, really dislike that entry and it's the one I don't own. At least ANOES 2 is funny and has that great moment where Freddy tears through that gay ki--*AH-HURM*--I mean, Jesse's belly.

Try an old school slasher marathon:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME
THE HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW
TOURIST TRAP
TERROR TRAIN
PROM NIGHT
ALICE, SWEET ALICE
HELL NIGHT
THE FUNHOUSE

You won't be disappointed!

Last year we did CarpenterFest, so I'm not sure if we're gonna pick another director or just go with SequelFest instead since this is the second annual party.

Dawn of the Dead
Halloween 2
Nightmare on Elm Street 2
The Devil's Rejects
Child's Play 2
Critters 2
28 Weeks Later
Jeepers Creepers 2
Friday the 13th Part 2

A few years ago in augusta ga the Imperial had a Evil Dead Marathon (tickets were like $7 for all 3 movies) and they sold beer. I got to say it was most fun.

I got to say with so many good dvds coming out this month I would go with Drag Me to Hell, Trick r Treat and maybe the b classic the Gate

This year I'm gonna have an 80's horror marathon

Superstition (atmospheric witch/haunted house movie)

Hell Night

Friday The 13th Part 2 (I love watching this on Halloween for some reason)

The Lost Boys

Near Dark (I actually haven't watched it yet, but I will on that special day)

Pet Sematary

A Nightmare On Elm Street

I'm sure I'll watch more but I cant think of any right now.

I have never heard of the movie Superstition
.

Near Dark might be the best vampire movie ever.

Tales From the Darkside: The Movie
Trilogy of Terror

Something like that, may take a few nights to complete.

That's what stinks. It never seems like I have enough free time in October to watch all the movies I'd like to for Halloween.

This will actually be my first year in many years that I won't be having a Halloween Party. I've done it since the sixth grade so that's gonna take some getting used to. It was always a highlight of my year because we always had such fun. However, I'll still try to have a day where I watch all my favorites. I don't have all my dvds (went to college so currently have about 10 of my dvds with me) but I'll be going home the weekend before Halloween so I'm going to attempt to bring back some of my favorite horror films.

These are what I'm most likely to watch:

Halloween
An American Werewolf in London
A Nightmare on Elm Street
The Descent
Fright Night
The Shining
Evil Dead
A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors

I'm sure most of those will be leading up to Halloween since I know I'll be out the day of.

I have a movie marathon every year with a friend or two. I change the line-up a bit every year but there are a few mainstays I go with.

This years its:
Halloween
Halloween 2
Halloween H20
Creepshow
Trick R' Treat
The Fog
The Howling
Bubba Ho-Tep

Adding Night of the Creeps to the list because of its upcoming DVD release! Fuck yes!

I would probably start off with something strong and work from there.

1. Dead Alive
2. Creepshow
3. Friday the 13th
4. Trick 'r Treat
5. House of 1,000 Corpses
6. Night of the Creeps
7. American Werewolf in London
8. The Howling
9. The Thing

The Thing would be my closer because when you start strong you've got to finish even stronger.

Re-Animator

Saturday:
The Blob (1988)
Halloween (Carpenter)
Halloween 2 (Carpenter)
Troll 2
The Dentist
Maniac Cop
Horror Express
The Serpent and the Rainbow

Sunday:
Cabin Fever
Abominable Dr Phibes
Maximum Overdrive
City of the Living Dead
It's Alive
The Brood

I mostly watch all my flicks the day before Halloween, then finish with one on Halloween. Here's my list:

House by the cemetery
Night of the Demon (yes, with Bigfoot, from the 80s)
Friday part 4
Stagefright
Trick OR Treat(not trick r treat)
Night of the demons

Evil Dead - I started a tradition of watchin Evil Dead only on Halloween 6 years ago. There is something very special about this flick when you only visit it once a year, especially when that day is Halloween. It is the perfect autumn film to close out October and lead you into November.
