For those who don't know ROBERT ENGLUND has just published his autobiography, entitled Hollywood Monster:
![]() I got to meet him on Saturday afternoon as part of a book signing. He autographed the book for free for anyone who bought a copy which was pretty cool. I mean being a huge ENGLUND fan I was naturally going to buy a copy anyway so having his signature in the book is a great bonus. He even drew a small FREDDY sketch on the inside cover. Neato! Anyone else planning to pick this up? It's supposed to detail his entire career so it should be pretty interesting. It also has an introduction from Wes Craven and Tobe Hooper. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes. |

Looking back, I probably should've went. I am going to get the book sometime anyway. I'll probably get it off of his website. Englunds a good talker. So I am sure the book will have some really good and well written stories.
How long was the wait for the autograph?? Anything else going on there?? |

Well they had a Halloween party on Friday night with ENGLUND acting as the host. I think he judged a costume contest and they also had a boiler room backdrop for a special photo opp. Going to the party was an $80 admission, an extra $20 if you wanted to get a copy of his book to have him sign the next day, and an additional $30 if you wanted to go with the boiler room photo opp. I didn't feel like putting up that kind of money so I skipped out on the Halloween party and just attended the book signing on Saturday morning.
ENGLUND was only signing from 10AM to 3PM. I was there around 9:50 and thought I would get done fairly quickly. I've met him several times before at Monster Mania and it usually would take around 3 hours or so to meet him. He had a much smaller crowd this time around since it was just him doing a book signing and not a full blown convention. Not that a lot of people didn't show up or anything. Just not as many as his convention appearances. However it still took a little over three hours to get the autograph because early on he was really taking his time talking to the fans. Plus, anyone who had the VIP pass (I didn't) was allowed to cut in line so I had to watch a bunch of people who got there after me go up in front. Still worth it though. I also got him to sign my ELM STREET soundtrack (the complete scores to the first five films) and got a few minutes of footage talking to him. Haven't started reading the book yet though. Will probably have to wait for some free time after the World Series is over. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes. |
