Actors turning up in the strangest films

I was watching that german flick Antibodies the other day, and I thought I saw Norman Reedus as a cop at the beginning of the movie. It turned out that it WAS Norman Reedus. He had a non-speaking cameo role. I just found that truly bizarre!

Has anyone else been pretty surprised to find actors in strange movies?

Russell Crowe in The Man With the Iron Fists.

So fucking cool that he agreed to do that film.

Not really an actor, but it was pretty surprising to see Jeff Jarrett pop up in Spring Breakers. He has a small role as a Christian guidance counselor.

Strange movie. I'm still processing it.

Matt Damon in Eurotrip!

Had to look up why he was in that movie in just that small role, turns out he went to college with the producers of it!

But still love seeing him seeing singing Scotty Doesn't Know!

Do retroactively strange actors count ? Like, for example, when you watch Psycho with Vince Vaughn it is beyond strange nowadays, though I guess it wasn't at the time.

Kind of off topic -- but in the spirit of the thread -- it's kind of hilarious and strange when subtitles are purposefully rewritten for certain markets. An Italian friend of mine tells me that in their version of the movie the subtitles change the gay Italian character into a Spaniard.

Years ago, I watched One Last Dance, a stylish, noirish crime film from Singapore which (to my knowledge) is pretty obscure. Harvey Keitel pops up out of nowhere in a cameo as a mob boss, which surprised me at the time.

Back in 2001 there was a German slasher film called The Pool which featured Isla Fisher and James McAvoy amongst the victims.

Gary Oldman headlining the Spanish thriller Backwoods.

In the 60s, William Shatner did an occult horror film called Incubus which was spoken entirely in Esperanto. Now that's weird.

Gary Oldman in The Unborn. What the heck was he doing in THAT? Did he loose a bet or something?

Naw, that was back in his dark, dramatic phase. He and Ben Stiller both went through one of those in the 90s.

Has anybody seen the Todd Haynes movie Poison? John Leguizamo pops in for a wordless cameo at one point.

Morgan Freeman in the straight to video flick Guilty by Association. He only has a 1 minute cameo in the flick, but they put him on the cover of the video as if he's the lead.

That's how I was suckered into renting this godawful film. Arrrrrrrrg!!!
