JoBlo.com is a popular movie fansite created in 1998
featuring everything that most any online movie fan would
want from their website including thousands of film reviews,
daily news updates, the latest in trailers, wallpapers,
scripts, screensavers, box-office results, celebrity
interviews, set visits, contests, upcoming movie previews
and so much more.
With Web 2.0. in full swing, we decided that the members of
our JoBlo
Movie Club, which consists of a variety of movie
discussion forums, would appreciate a more comprehensive
community in which to share their love of film with fellow
schmoes, so we created a profile page for each member,
allowing them to share with others more about their own
lives, as well as their passions. This new section would
allow JoBlo.com members to communicate and interact with one
another on a whole other level, and hopefully share more of
their positive experiences with others. We decided to call
it: MyJoBlo.com.

Joining is pretty simply, as you just need to visit THIS
PAGE, enter your own username, choose a password, answer
a few questions and voila?your account is ready to be
checked out. Our community is NOT for everyone though, as we
do screen all members and don't allow folks under the age of
15 years old, or anyone who is obviously just joining to
f*ck around, spam or has been banned previously. In fact, we
reserve the right not to accept anyone for any reason of our
choosing, but if you're cool, everything should be alright.
No dicks allowed.
NOTE: Most people with free online email accounts don't
seem to be receiving our activation email and therefore, are
NOT able to join our club. If you have a HOTMAIL, AOL, YAHOO
or MSN free email account, make sure to check your SPAM
FOLDER for any emails sent from our site. Better yet, join
our board by using another email address, so that you don't
run into any of those problems. We cannot help anyone with
FREE email accounts, so please do NOT email us with those
problems ("I'm not receiving your emails, my account
doesn't work, etc?.").

All of the sections in your own Profile can be filled in by
clicking on the icons at the top of the page. Once logged
into your account, you can make all of the changes that you
want in your own profile at anytime. Explanations of each of
your sections follow:

| ABOUT ME / FAVORITES /
DETAILS AND INTERESTS:
|
Click on EDIT PROFILE 
and simply fill in the forms required (sex,
occupation, birthday, etc?). Remember that your
exact birthday will not be made public to
anyone, just your AGE and ZODIAC SIGN.
In the ABOUT ME section, enter everything you
want people to know about you. To make it easier on
the eye, try and place paragraphs in your text.
There is a character limit for this section, so try
not to write a book. Same goes for all your DETAILS
AND INTERESTS responses.
Under FAVORITES, you are asked to name your
FAVORITE MOVIE OF THIS YEAR, FAVORITE MOVIE OF
ALL-TIME, FAVORITE ACTOR, etc? Please limit your
responses to 1 for each query. Your single responses
should give others a "basic idea" of what
type of movie-lover you are.
When done with your additions/alterations, click on
SUBMIT MODIFICATIONS at the bottom and poof, your
profile should have the basics up and at 'em.

| MY IMAGES/VIDEOS: |
Click on EDIT IMAGES/VIDEOS 
and then click on UPLOAD IMAGES (on the top
right-hand side) and then follow the basic
instructions on how to upload images from your
computer into your profile.
There are 5 different sections in the IMAGES section
including:
1) PERSONAL IMAGES: Pictures of you and your
friends drinking and cavorting
2) MOVIE IMAGES: Pictures from some of your
favorite movies
3) CELEBRITY IMAGES: Pictures of some of your
favorite celebrities (read: hotties)
4) ME AND A CELEBRITY: If you have a picture
with a "celeb", slap it up for others to
see!
5) "CAPTION ME" PHOTOS: Upload
images under which others can post joke comments
Of course, you can also easily DELETE your images in
the back-end, by simply clicking on DELETE, or make
one your DEFAULT image on the front left-handside of
your PROFILE, by clicking on MAKE DEFAULT. Also,
there is a CAPTION form right under each picture
which allows you to post your own comment under each
of your pictures.
It's to note that the latest 10 IMAGES that you add
to your IMAGES/VIDEOS section will be shown on the
front page of your PROFILE. Folks can see them all
by clicking on MORE, if they like.
TIPS FOR IMAGES: Try not to post pictures that
are TOO LARGE in size. If you know how to use
PhotoShop, scale the picture down to a more
manageable size, so that it will look better on your
page. Also, remember that you only have a 5MB limit
for all of your images and shit. By CRUNCHING YOUR
PICTURES (more on that HERE), you can also maintain the image quality, but
save a lot of space for yourself as well. Something
to think about.
You also have a VIDEO section here (again, to add a
video to this section, click on the top right-hand
side link called ADD VIDEO) which allows you to post
links to videos across the Net, which others can
watch on your Profile. You can TITLE the video for
others to check out.

| MY FRIENDS: |
This section will be populated with your friends
from the site. By clicking on EDIT FRIENDS  ,
you can choose all of your friends from the site
and/or delete any that you no longer wish to remain
your friend. To become someone's friend, you must
visit their profile, find the ADD TO FRIENDS link
(on the left-hand side column) and wait until they
ACCEPT to have you as their friend. Once they do
that, you will automatically have your DEFAULT IMAGE
added to their FRIENDS section. In that same vein,
all members you accept to be your friends, will end
up in your MY FRIENDS section.
Once you become someone's FRIEND, you can then
COMMENT on the different sections of their profile.
If you don't want someone commenting on your
profile, or simply do not want them as your friend,
you have the right to TURN DOWN their request to be
your friend. This can be accomplished in the next
section entitled FRIEND REQUESTS.
You can also choose which 10 friends will be shown on the front page of your MyJoBlo Profile Page. This can be done by choosing the ones you want as your TOP FRIENDS in the EDIT FRIENDS section. You can always alternate or change them over time

| FRIEND REQUESTS:
|
Closely related to the previous section entitled
MY FRIENDS, this is a section in which all of your
FRIEND requests will accumulate. Upon clicking on
the FRIEND REQUESTS icon  ,
you will be able to ACCEPT or REJECT someone as your
friend from this section, and see what other members
are awaiting to ACCEPT or REJECT your request to be
their friend. This section is actually pretty
self-explanatory.

| MY BLOGS: |
By clicking on ADD BLOG ENTRY  ,
you will automatically be able to add a BLOG/JOURNAL
to your PROFILE. If you've already used our forums
before, you should have no problem using these BLOGS
as they are basically the same sort of set-up.
There is a SUBJECT header where you would enter the
title of your BLOG/JOURNAL (example: "How FIGHT
CLUB changed my life!") and something called
JOURNAL ENTRY in which you would obviously?well,
enter your thoughts, etc? Remember that you can
include IMAGES and formatting into your journals,
and to learn more about how to do that, CLICK
HERE.
Under your JOURNAL ENTRY, there are 2 other entries
called EXTRAS which ask you to enter your MOOD when
you wrote your ENTRY and NOW PLAYING, which could be
taken as the movie that was playing in your head
when you wrote the piece or more likely, the MUSIC
that you were listening to while composing your
note. Either way, both forms are OPTIONAL, so you
don't have to fill those out if you don't feel like
it.
Once done, click on SUBMIT at the bottom of the page
et voila, your BLOG is posted on your MyJoBlo.com
PROFILE page for others to read, share and bitch
about.
Your latest 3 BLOGS will be shown on your MyJoBlo
Profile front page.

MY DVD COLLECTION: |
Click on the EDIT DVD COLLECTION  icon, then click on ADD DVD to begin choosing your own DVDs from a massive list of DVDs that we currently have in our system. Right now, we don’t have too many in there, but we will be adding more as we move along. To choose one to add to your own collection, pick the title from the drop-down menu, then choose a rating for that film out of 10 and click on SUBMIT (or choose N/A).
Then, continue for all other DVDs in your collection. You can apply the same process to the WISH LIST right under your DVD COLLECTION. This would be a list of DVDs that you WISH you had. Clever, right?The 4 latest DVDs added to your collection will be shown on your MyJoBlo Profile front page.
Just like the TOP FRIENDS section under the MY FRIENDS umbrella, you can choose which 4 DVDs you want to be shown as your MY TOP DVDs on the front of your Profile Page. You can do so by clicking on the word TOP next to the DVDs of your choice. You can change them at any time.

| MY LISTS: |
By clicking on the EDIT LISTS 
icon, you can create as many of your FAVORITE lists
as you like including your FAVORITE MOVIES OF
ALL-TIME, THE ACTRESSES/ACTORS YOU MOST WANT TO
NAIL, YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE QUOTES, THE COOLEST MOVIE
CHARACTERS, etc? Anything your heart desires.
To do so, simply click on the ADD NEW LIST button,
enter a TITLE for your list (example: Favorite
Movies of All-Time), a comment under it, if you
like, and then, your entries. Once you're done
entering your first 10 entries, click on SUBMIT and
your initial list is POSTED. If you want to ADD more
entries to that same list, just click on the title
of that list again, and then click on the ADD MORE
ENTRIES button and keep adding as many entries as
you like.
You can also take that opportunity to EDIT your list
or simply move your previous entries UP or DOWN by
simply clicking on the MOVE UP / MOVE DOWN links
placed next to each of your entries. Again, once
done, click on SUBMIT and your list has been updated
for all to see.
Your latest 3 LISTS will be shown on your MyJoBlo
Profile front page.

| MY MOVIE REVIEWS: |
In order to start padding your own MyJoBlo Profile with your own MOVIE REVIEWS, click on the  icon and then click on the ADD REVIEW link. Then, simply choose the title of the film that you're going to be reviewing from the drop-down menu (we are continually going to be adding titles to this list, it’s not comprehensive yet), choose a RATING OUT OF 10 for the film, upload an IMAGE for your review by using the BROWSE button to nab the image from your own computer, and then fill in the two sections of the actual review called PLOT and REVIEW, in which you would obviously a) describe the plot and b) enter your review.
Once done, click on SUBMIT and your film review will be added to your own film review archives, which anyone can access through your MyJoBlo Profile front page.
As per most sections on MyJoBlo.com, you can EDIT your reviews whenever you feel like it.
Your latest 5 MOVIE REVIEWS will be shown on your MyJoBlo Profile front page.

| SEARCH MEMBERS: |
Finally, this isn't really a
"section" of your profile per se, but if
you click on the SEARCH MEMBERS 
icon at the end of the top menu, you can actually
search through our database of MyJoBlo members by
SEX, REGION, RELATIONSHIP STATUS and AGE. This is a
good tool for anyone looking to find someone of
their own sensibilities or geographical closeness,
or others they simply wish to get to know better.
As per anything else on the Internet though, always
be careful about who you are speaking to, as you
never really know if it's really a hot 22-year old
girl on the other end, or some 53-year old Teamster
with a greasy hard-on. Have fun, folks, but always beware.^Top

| COMMUNITY LISTS: |
The COMMUNITY LISTS are the aggregate TOP lists of all our participating My JoBlo.com members, each of whom have the ability to create their own MY COMMUNITY LISTS featuring different sections like FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL-TIME or FAVORITE DIRECTOR, and all of whom, averaged out, will equal the results of our COMMUNITY LISTS which you can see RIGHT HERE (continually updated).
The idea behind this is simple. As a member, you would click on the COMMUNITY LISTS tab above so that you can enter/edit your own picks for each list (of which there are currently 15). For example, if you entered FIGHT CLUB as your #1 pick for FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL-TIME, that film would get 20 points toward its ranking on the official COMMUNITY LISTS. If you chose GOODFELLAS as your #2 pick for FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL-TIME, that film would be awarded 19 points toward its ranking on the official COMMUNITY LISTS and so on and so forth, all the way down to your 20th pick (that film would get 1 point). If you only choose to enter your top 5 favorite movies, then obviously only those films will be awarded points. Each member’s picks would be added to the overall calculation for the official COMMUNITY LISTS, so the more members fill in their lists, the more interesting the lists can become.
As you change your minds over the weeks, months and years to come, so will the changes of your own lists affect how our COMMUNITY LISTINGS evolve over time. Nobody is forced to fill out their COMMUNITY LISTS sections or every single category encompassed within those lists, but just like in real life, EVERY VOTE COUNTS, so if you want to participate in naming the best and coolest movie-related categories of all-time, don’t just sit here reading this, click on COMMUNITY LISTS and start entering!!

| GENERAL STUFF: |
Finally, there are a bunch of other items as part of
each person's PROFILE that we haven't gotten into
here, but basically, the left-hand side column of each
of your PROFILES will list all of your basic
information, including a section under STATISTICS
which will show you your own stats around the site,
including something called SPACE LEFT, which will show
you how much of your 5MB you still have to use.
You can access more of any other member's sections
(IMAGES, BLOGS, etc..) by either clicking on the MORE
button on the front page of each Profile's respective
section, or by clicking on the title of that section
you want to access from the left-hand side column,
under the category titled SECTIONS. Since we can't
showcase ALL the images, blogs, reviews, etc? on
each member's front page, you can access the rest of
their stuff this way.
Under the CONTACT category in the left-hand side
column, you will obviously find various ways by which
you can CONTACT another member including PM (Private
Message), EMAIL, a COMMENT on their profile, their own
WEBSITE, or any other form of online communication. Of
course, by utilizing your own preferences in your USER
CP, you can SWITCH OFF any of those modes of
communications, if you do not wish for anybody to
contact you.

and such that you find in the MyJoBlo.com project.
Please always try and be respectful when posting
mistakes, as we're all working together to improve
this place. Basically, don't be a jerk about it.

As per our discussion forums, we have a certain way of
treating others on our board, which we'd like to
extend to our MyJoBlo.com section as well. CLICK
HERE to read those BASIC RULES AND
GUIDELINES and remember that we reserve the right to
BAN anyone outright and completely DELETE their
MyJoBlo.com Profile at the same time.
We don't allow any blatant racism, sexism or any other
type of -ism versus other members of our Club, and if
you notice any such negativity, please email the
administration or simply REPORT the offending person,
image, blog by utilizing the many REPORT THIS links,
spread around each person's Profile.
We are always scouring the board and the MyJoBlo.com
Profile pages, but it's with your help (and Winston
Wolfe) that we can make sure to keep this place pretty
clear of douchebags.
