IM THERE...
Never played the games but this movie looks so fuckin bad ass!!! my close friend who has played both games religiously is also as excited as i am maybe even more, so obviously it can't be that bad if it satisfies the Payne fans. I have been wrong before though:/ |

As a huge Max Payne fan I'm pretty surprised this looks good. Don't get me wrong, the source material would lend itself to a film very easily...but with the talentless director involved I wasn't so sure (And well I'm probably still not).
But he's got the atmosphere down pat, he's the action and some of the casting works in strange ways. The weak links for me were Mila Kunis and Ludacris (rappers should not act). However, I'm pretty surprised how very Mona Sax Kunis seems to be in her brief appearances in the trailer. And Ludacris as Jim Bravura? Retarded... but for some reason seeing him in the hat and trench coat and I completely buy it now.
I still hate Marky Mark's awful voiceover. Payne didn't put on some gravelly voice for his inner monologue, it was just his voice and Walhberg could have done the same.
I also can't believe that fans of the video game actually think there are demons in the movie... Talk about missing the point.
At the very least they've got the beginning end scene right, there's clips of Max standing on the edge of the helicopter pad. |

The trailer looks great with a good Manson song in the back, but the demons and angels... i don't know. I remember from the first game he was going up against a cult that claimed to have "tasted the blood of fallen angels", right? So its got the game feel, but were there actual demons and angels? I think it looks pretty cool none the less. |

not a game player so i have no opinion on how close the movie is to the game. it definetly has a constatine fell to it, which is a good thing. wahlberg is a good actor and this trailer is nothing like what i thought the movie would be. very cool looking. when i first heard about this movie i though it was gonna be some lame army movie. i guess i confused it with that great wayans movie major payne. anyways looks like it could be a keeper. |

Looks good, but while the trailer seems to suggest some sort of explanation for the Valkyries, it seems to possibly misplace its emphasis. |

I'm going to agree If the angels are real and not drug induced I will disapprove. Other than that the trailer was impressive |

FOR MY TWO CENTS...
I will throw in with everyone else who thinks that if these creatures are actually part of the physical world in this film, it will be massively hated.
His drug-fueled hallucinations, yes. That makes sense. Real things, no no no no no.
Fox needs to market this a little better so that it makes some more sense to people other than fans of the game.
Fox is the place where good ideas and franchises go to die. |
