Read no further if you don’t want Sigourney Weaver to possibly ruin a big surprise in the next GHOSTBUSTERS movie. Unfortunately, it’s my job to read spoilers so let me just say DAMN IT SIGOURNEY! Ah well, I still love you.
In an interview with the UK’s Channel 4 (via AICN), Sigourney let this little nugget slip about Bill Murray’s character, Peter Vankman’s appearance in the new film.
“I might be in it; I see nothing wrong with being in it, although I don’t think I will have a big part. I think Bill Murray has a little more to do with it – (whispering) he’s a ghost.”
Oops!
Ah whatever, I’m sure this is something we find out pretty early in the movie, and if it is true, I think it’s actually a pretty cool way to bring the character back. What about the rest of the team? Could they all have died in some stream-crossing accident and now return as ghosts to mentor the new class of Busters? Not a bad idea if you ask me.
