Goyer Invisible, Mags Aug. 7, 2008
Source: MTV
by: James Thoo

David Goyer talked to MTV recently about his two upcoming projects X-MEN ORIGINS: MAGNETO, and THE INVISIBLE MAN. He also has THE FLASH coming up, but he is currently wrestling with which of the former two he'll do first. He doesn't know yet, but he talked a little about his take on THE INVISIBLE MAN, which actually sounds pretty sweet.

"I’m writing a new version of ‘The Invisible Man’ for Universal... I’m in the process of doing ['Invisible Man'] right now, and I’m working with some conceptual artists in tandem with writing the script. I’m actually working with one of the artists from ‘Batman Begins’ and ‘The Dark Knight.’ So it could be ‘Magneto,’ or it could be ‘The Invisible Man’ next.”

“It involves Scotland Yard getting their hands on the current Invisible Man and basically saying, ‘Wow, you’d be a really good secret agent to send into Imperial Russia right now... It starts off from there.”

However, the article also calls him "red hot" and I'm not entirely certain how that happened. Because he is credited for THE DARK KNIGHT? I'd love to know how much he actually contributed to the movie and how much was the brothers Nolan just taking what he had and making it awesome. Those guys can make anything look cool. If I was a white supremacist, I'd totally hire them to put a positive spin on The Holocaust. I'm not saying they could do it, but let's be honest they totally could.

Extra Tidbit: Goyer was originally in the mix to direct HELLBOY, before Del Toro got involved.

Honestly, after single-handedly destroying the Blade franchise in one strike, Goyer should be - at least - taken with a grain of salt... we all know the sheer awesomess of TDK was the Nolans' work.

Oh, and James? Political uncorrectness or not, Holocaust Jokes? Not funny.

I thought "The Invisible" was pretty much the invisible man. Hopefully this movie works better than that suckfest...or Blade Trinity.

random white supremacists comment but ok...I think Magneto movie might be good but lets make with the sure the whole team comes back for B3 if there is such a thing. Even if he is only the idea man and not the scribe.

I think the Magneto movie is a bad idea. I don't see a lot of people lining up at theaters to see that. Hopefully, he will make The Invisible Man first. It's good to see that Universal is serious about rebooting their Classic Monster movies.

The Invisible Man was always one of my favorite movie characters. Let's hope that Goyer does him some justice.
