CHECK IT OUT ON YOUTUBE
There are about a dozen previews on youtube.com if you want to see it. The quality isn't bad either. |

Even though he took a hit with Lady in the Water I didn't think it was all that bad. I still like watching his movie's and the trailer looks very interesting. |

SO WHAT......
So LITW sucked, I actually liked The Village apart from the ending. Every director is allowed the occasional miss and I don't think this is going to be one of them. Looks like he's gone back to " what in the shit is going on??? " mode and if we can put up with Wahlberg's constipated face acting then it should be a fun ride |

VERY EXCITED.
Big fan of Shyamalan, I'm super pumped for this film. It'll be great to see what he can do under the American "R" rating, let his dark side run crazy.
Here's to ORIGINAL ideas in hollywood (enough with the remakes and torture porn films).
I'll be there opening day :) |

WOW
Okay, I was pretty ticked by the unintelligible tripe that was LITW but this looks f-ing good. People dropping dead, committing suicide for no reason? Reminds me of that Japanese horror film Suicide Club. M. Night has delivered before, including one film that really set the suspense genre on its ear (Sixth Sense). For that, Signs and The Village (so sue me, I dug it although it was obvious) I will believe in Shyamalan. I think the horrible receiving of Lady In The Water knocked him down a peg or two and that humility will have caused him to think "Maybe I SHOULD rewrite this, after all, not everyone can read my mind."
Plus, its coming out on my b-day. I love it when its on Fridays, that so creepy/cool! |

Lady in the Water was by no means perfect, but it was at least creative and original. The Happening looks like a good time to me. I'm there. |

Holy shit. This knocked my socks off. Let's just hope the rest of the movie hits me like this teaser did! |

Just waiting for the twist ending to this one: everybody's already really dead? :P
I think MKS is a cut above most of his peers, but I really wish he would just let someone else write his stuff. The guy has great premises, but the follow through (and the inevitable "twist" reveal) is almost always painfully lame.
Of course, were someone else to write his stuff, he wouldn't be the much-vaunted auteur that he is, right?
Have to agree, his trailers and concepts make you want to see his flicks. Having Zooey star doesn't hurt either.
But hopefully he also holds off on the 7 minute uninterrupted camera positioning in a scene. |

KUDOS TO M. NIGHT!!!
Kudos to M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN, one of the few real ORIGINAL voices left in Hollywood. Here's a dude who is just 37 FUCKIN' YEARS OLD and he's already written AND directed 5 very unique movies, a couple of which are already CLASSICS in my eye (SIXTH SENSE, UNBREAKABLE).
Alls we do, day-to-day, on this site and within our friends is BASH Hollywood, especially over the past few years, with all the remakes and rehashes and all the TV shows being made into movies, and here's a guy who CONTINUES to write his own movies, and come up with new and creative ways to make us want to see a movie.
Clowns like Ratner, Boll, McG, and all of those dudes should be lucky enough to pronounce this guy's name! I wish there were more people and filmmakers in Hollywood like Shyamalan. I realize the guy (and his movies) isn't perfect (easy on the ego, dude), but for fuck's sakes...let's support the home-team, folks!
And how about his trailers? Most every single one of the teaser trailers to his films has been INVENTIVE and leaves you ASKING QUESTIONS. In a world...where all we get is trailers featuring the ENTIRE MOVIE in 1:30 minutes, more kudos go out to Shyamalan for HOLDING BACK.
Can't wait to see this and whatever else you come up with, dude. |
