Harrison Ford says an Indiana Jones 5 story idea has been agreed on

“A germ of an idea,” I should say. Also, I want to apologize in advanced, because this is like the fourth Indy 5 story in the last year that’s essentially not given any real new info. It’s a slow news morning.

Anyway, presumably while doing press in the UK for EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES, actor Harrison Ford spoke to the BBC about INDY 5’s story saying, “Steven [Spielberg] and George [Lucas] and I are sort of agreed on a germ of an idea and we’re seeing what comes of it.”

The fifth installment – which after CRYSTAL SKULL, I think we’re all very wary of at this point – won’t apparently be seen for quite some time. I don’t think anyone expected otherwise, but okay. Ford then gets into how he, Lucas, and Spielberg got the ball rolling: “The process works like this. We come to some basic agreement and then George goes away for a long time and works on it. Then Steven and I get it in some form, some embryonic form. Then if we like it we start working with George on it and at some point down the line it’s ready and we do it.”

I suppose word coming from the Fedora-wearer himself carries with it a little more weight than from Shia LaBeouf, but still. This is non-news. But stay tuned. Hopefully some substantial info on the sequel will come down the pike soon.
