Guillermo Del Toro has been talking about HELLBOY III to SciFi Wire. Apparently if GOLDEN ARMY does well, he'll be up for making another, but then that will be it.
"If there was ever a third one, I would really make sure that we at least sign a contract that there is no more... No prequels and no sequels: nothing. If that happens, then there is a third one we have planned, and the seeds are planted in this film.
If a third installment becomes a reality, del Toro said the story would shift back to the pulp mythology of the original comic-book series. "The idea for me is to bring back the Nazis characters, but bring them back in a way they would operate now... Meaning, what public face would the Nazis have in 2009/2010? How rich would they be? How in charge could they be? It's not this group of freakies that hide in the sewers, but people that are incredibly rich."
I hate to question Del Toro, since I'm nowhere near worthy, but did I miss the point where contemporary Nazis begun hiding in sewers? Does this really happen? If so, where were they in AVP:R? Anyway, it's unfortunate to think there'll only be one more look at Selma Blair in skin-tight leather, but I'm pretty sure positive thinking will get us through this.
Extra Tidbit:
It isn't just me right? That poster is sick.

Or he could have meant that Kroenen did some lounging in the sewers in the first movie... but that's just speculation. He probably means what Otherness said. |

HELL BOY TRILOGY
This trilogy will be what LOTR is to Peter Jackson, I don't see how HB2 will not do good, the second film is going to rock, and the third will be the best one of them all and the trilogy will be one of the best trilogy's ever! Guillermo is an amazing film director,I believe in GDT, lets make this happen, and yes, the poster is bone-a-fied SICK!!! |

Yeah, you're right, of course. But I prefer to believe JMRodro's answer if it's all the same. Well played, my friend. |

I sure hope they do a third one.
As for the Nazi reference, he just meant that it's not like they're in hiding in some obscure place where nobody can find them (such as...ready? A SEWER!), but in a high-profile place where they are hiding in, as they say, "plain sight." |

Perhaps her is referring to the movie "Bulletproof Monk" where contemporary Nazis do indeed dwell in the sewers. |

BRING KROENEN BACK!
I just want to see that bad-ass supernazi given his due for the awesome villain he is. I love the alternate history/occult connection with the real evil that the nazi represents. |

Three, then done? Sounds good to me. No need to ruin a (potentially) good trilogy. |
