LOL
I doubt that this movie co-exists with either Lost or Heroes, just geeks going overboard as usual. This movie was created on viral marketing, this is just more examples of it, and it's not a very big secret that Kring, Grunberg and JJ are all buds or know each other. If this tied into either of those shows I'm pretty sure they would have said that from the beginning, taping into that fanbase.
Also, muter, the hype was created by people like us who visit these kinds of sites. All that Cloverfield did was put out a trailer with no title and a site with pictures, it was us who went crazy trying to get to bottom of it, obviously over-analyzing and hyping the movie up ourselves. |

This isn't too far off from one of the wild theories on zap2it earlier - Zap2it has a weekly Lost blog and the guy occasionally does a wild speculation column - and in one of them, he suggested that the monster in Cloverfield could be the Lost monster let loose later on...
That's pretty farfetched as it is but I can't help but wonder if someone read that and thought of tying this into Heroes instead... |

TASTES LIKE...VIRAL MARKETING? YUCK
Just trying to boost more hype. *yawn*
The perpetual hype engine will be the critical-fan death of this movie unless it really delivers. I'm going to see it but my expectations are low. |
