Last week, it was a Battle of the Buffy Babes and after looking over the 26 responses, while there was the non-committal response from Ms Kiddo, the tally ended up with a win for Dushku. (She had 13 votes, Gellar had 7 and Alyson had 5.) While all battles are not created equal, one could say the same about horror movies and their recent crop of remakes. Which of the following horror-flick-redux babes does it most for you?

Brittany Snow

I'm conflicted about Brittany Snow. On one hand, she's just another blonde floating in a sea of Hollywood peroxide and I f*cking loathed the PROM NIGHT remake that she winced and shuddered her way through. (I didn't think the original was a huge wonderment, but the 2008 shitterpiece had me throwing things at my TV screen it was so f*cking bad.) On the other hand, as I've started to catch her in different roles, from the hooker in FINDING AMANDA to.. well, the hooker in ON THE DOLL, Snow is proving that she's not about to go out in a wave of wilted eyeliner and piercing screams.

Danielle Panabaker

When I took in MR. BROOKS recently, I did it to satisfy my curiosity about the movie people told me earlier Dane Cook didn't suck in. When I caught Panabaker on the screen as Kevin Costner's troubled college drop-out daughter, I immediately sat up and clapped that I'd seen the cute chick from SKY HIGH in something other than... well, SKY HIGH. I get this funky vibe from Danielle, like we're just beginning to see the hint of all she has behind that innocent face. With next year's redux of FRIDAY THE 13TH, perhaps we'll get a whole lot more from her.

Scout Taylor-Compton

Scout has the distinction of being in not only one classic horror redux in the last year, but two. First came last fall's HALLOWEEN as seen through the demented vision of Rob Zombie. (Actually, he's quite benign, no matter how hard he tries to posture and convince us otherwise.) STC was also in this spring's straight to DVD release of APRIL FOOL'S DAY, a movie that turned out to be not so much a remake of the original than a complete retelling. There's not a great deal of photo shoot quality pictures of the 19 year old actress, but you can cruise her MySpace profile if you want to look at dozens of those self-snapped in the mirror type of shots.

Pick yourself a new scream queen. If you dare. I mean... if you care.

I'm going with Scout. She was adorable in Halloween, and I feel like I'm in a competition with her over who takes the most pics of themselves.

I do love Brittany Snow tho.

And I did not weigh in on the Buffy action because I can't pick between them. I think they are all equally hot and awesome. Sorry, I get one pass.

Yay! Dushku won! (I can't believe Kiddo didn't weigh in on that one!) As for this one, I'm gonna go with Scout. While on one level her performance in HALLOWEEN was incredibly annoying, I found her at the same time incredibly appealing (I can't explain it), and she looks hot in that dress!
