Alice Eve takes her cleavage to Kimmel, doesn't apologize

May. 22, 2013by: Salacious Crumb

Being a writer for a site such as this, my opinion on the matter of Alice Eve's "inappropriate" bikini appearance in STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS might may not be of value to some of you. Even if my open love for breasts somehow demerits my point of view, I think it's completely absurd for the writer of a big summer movie to apologize for being "gratuitous", especially in this day and age. Many women have worn bikinis in many movies, often times having little or nothing to do with the plot. It's a part of cinematic history. Ever since WHERE THE BOYS ARE and SOME LIKE IT HOT, it has become a trend that before this week, I had no idea was getting on anyone's nerves. I'm just saying if people are concerned about this, and not about the TWILIGHT franchise, the movie-going majority is becoming a sad group of people (kind of already is). All that said, I kind of feel bad for Eve in this situation. Now she probably feels obligated to never show off her body in another movie ever again (also very sad). On that note, here are Alice and her glorious funbags on their way to "Jimmy Kimmel Live!". No apologies.

I'm in two minds.

Whilst I didn't mind seeing Alice Eve in a 2-piece, I do 'understand' some of the backlash about that scene. Not to sound ungrateful, but (as nice as it was) it was unnecessary. I personally wouldn't use the term 'gratuitous' but, it was so "unapologetically" forced. To me, (and I've seen this at the cinema's twice now) it really did feel like it was the producers/directors saying "Hey, these nerds have been listening to a lot of dialogue, to prevent walk-outs, you better throw in some boobs".

Especially when the time came for the reveal, she was 'posed' & had a sexed-up grin on her face. I don't know...she's an attractive girl, but that scene stuck out like a sore thumb, and not in way that a girl in her underwear should.

Capt. James T. Kirk - Intergalactic Playboy

In the original series and the first JJ Abrams movies, Kirk did a Green chick. Also, what's the deal with modesty in the 24th century? Anywho, I'm sure Ms. Eve doesn't mind the attention and I"m very sure Star Trek isn't the last time we'll be seeing her is various states of undress.

She played Carol Marcus!!!

If you have any sense of history around Star Trek this reference means something. There was supposed to be sexual tension between Carol and Kirk. There was nothing wrong with trying to build this tension in Into Darkness, the scene just didn't depict it well. Nobody should be apologizing for it though. The intent was sound. Lindelof should tell people to "fuck off, it's just a movie". Hell, I just saw a Victoria's Secret ad. Perhaps the producers should be apologizing before they fall on their

In Into Darkness there's a reason for the bra and panties scene, even though it may have been vague. In a VS ad it is just "we have boobs and look good".

I also liked when she said "it's nice to have a family" at the end.

I think Alice Eve deserves an apology for the scene more than the fans.

It's completely stupid that anyone is upset by it. How many Movies and TV Shows have dudes taking their shirts off for no reason other than to show off their abs? And yet nobody gives a shit about that. It's retarded that the double standard stuff now only applies when a girl is the one who's showing skin. Anyone who was upset about those two fucking seconds of the movie should seriously consider sorting out their priorities.

That's the kind of body that might make Kirk even briefly consider settling down.

That's

How was he right to apologize? Have you even seen the movie? There is nothing to apologize about, that scene literally lasted all of 3 seconds long. In what world is that gratuitous? America is so messed up, killing blood guts and gore, that's completely fine, but god forbid, you show the human body naked, and it's the end of the world. The funny thing is, now people are freaking out, and she wasn't even naked, it wasn't even "suggestive nudity", there was no nudity at all. Everybody has seen

Everybody has seen at least their own body naked, and sex is what created us all, the same can't be said for all the violent stuff in shows/movies, so why do Americans care more about nudity and sex, than they do for the other? Talk about ass backwards, violence in movies and shows doesn't bother me at all, but it's crazy that people favor violence over sex and nudity.

He was right to apologize

I like naked women as much as the next guy but having a gratuitous underwear/nude scene cheapens a film if it's not part of an exploitation genre and Star Trek had a serious reputation.

And please, tell me under which rock you live if you think no one was concerned about Twilight. This is the most hated franchise of my lifetime.

TNG, DS9 and Voyager were pretty stoic but the original series was sexy. Star Trek had a reputation for being cerebral but it was also a sexy show.

Well Worth Looking At

She has a great body and beautiful face. Anyone that objects to that little scene in the movie is sexually repressed. If anything, it shows what a dog Kirk is - as if that scene where he wakes up with the alien twins in his bed didn't already make the point.
I'd rather look at pretty women than people being shot and blown up. Guess that shows how skewed America has become.
