File this under a head scratcher as far as my opinion goes. Angelina Jolie is rumoured to be attached to the film adaptation of the book, The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog , a fictional account by author Andrew O'Hagan told from the perspective of Marilyn Monroe's dog Maf, chronicling the last 2 years of the tragic life of the actress.
The dog, nicknamed Maf which happened to be short for Mafia, was a gift to Marilyn from supposed beau, Frank Sinatra. After the bombshell died in 1962, the dog was adopted by Sinatra's secretary. The author was at the Edinburgh Book Festival when he made the announcement that Jolie was lined up to play Marilyn and that George Clooney was supposedly attached to play Sinatra.
Also in the book are some scenes with the presidential love interest, John F. Kennedy, although it seems that O'Hagan did not drop the bomb on who would be filling that role.
