God I hate that term, hipster - almost as much as I hate the hipsters themselves. I run into these people constantly, usually exiting some non-corporate coffee shop with their vegan lattes in one hand and their iPhone in the other as they saunter down the sidewalk to their Priuses, wearing the requisite garb of super-tight skinny jeans, an ironic t-shirt, colored Converse All-Stars and horn-rimmed glasses. It's the camouflage of a culturally vacant generation of people who have nothing interesting to contribute to their own time and are therefore forced to pick'n'pull from previous generations to piece together an identity. Quite a sad statement about how far our culture has sunk.
Okay, now that I've gotten that off my chest, let's talk about Anne Hathaway here and her funny glasses that seem to be an attempt at reaching out to the cultural vacuum that is hipsterism. I understand that she's probably eager to get back into everyone's good graces after her Academy Awards debacle, but pick a better group to appeal to for sympathy, Anne. Besides, hipsters don't have a lot of sympathy for late adopters. If you weren't doing it before the time of Christ, you're just a poser to them.
