I'd have to say that last week's battle
featuring the women of TNT's dramas ended up with Holly Hunter winning in a mixture of holding up her looks for so long and being an exceptional actress. This week, because I can't think of anything better, I'm going to have you all tell me where I might be wrong with these three ladies. They're all actresses who make lots of dough but that I personally can't stand. Call it the Battle of Cherry Loves to Hate Them.
There was something about Jones that I dug back in the pre-Michael Douglas days. She was ripe and fresh and seemingly full of potential. What I didn't catch onto was how full of herself she was as well. Between marrying the man whose face looks like a wadded up piece of Kleenex that's just been tossed after its "catching" duties and squeezing out a couple of his kids, Jones became just another rich woman who has said some nasty shit about how much she hates L.A. Sure, I'm from California and know that the city sucks sometimes, but kind of like not being about to make a beaner reference if you're not Mexican, don't be dissing any part of a state that you're not living in.
I really, really
don't get the appeal of this chick. The first time I'd ever heard of her, she was some no-name bitch who was boinking Jude Law while he was still married to his wife (who'd just given birth to another of their multiple children together). Perhaps it's because I'm American and especially because where I'm from blondes are a dime a dozen, but Sienna Miller has never done anything for me. Her tits are too small, her smile is too phony and her acting, if I dare call it that, is non-existent. She's not pretty enough, athletic enough or talented enough to be getting as much attention as she does. If someone can defend her, please do so.
This one is an old-school and new-school quandary for me. The first thing that I remember seeing Stone in was TOTAL RECALL and she wasn't playing the type of character that you fall in love with. I never understood the appeal of BASIC INSTINCT (again, with that used Kleenex face douche) and other than THE MIGHTY, haven't liked anything else she's even been remotely involved with. As a younger actress she seemed used up from the get-go, some tired old bag. As an older actress, she just makes me cringe. What is/was it about her that made people think she was hot?
OK, I've listed in the link who I think annoys me the least. But this Battle is meant to be a fun have-out for those of you who might be fans of these actresses, presently or at some prior time. If you can defend them, their looks or their careers, I would love to hear it. Thursdays are good for discussions, so check back often and weigh in. Lipstick, people. Lipstick.
