Anyone besides me going to use their trip to see CABIN IN THE WOODS to whet their Whedon until May 4th finally winds its way around? Many ignoramuses are just wanting to tune into the cool superhero action from THE AVENGERS. I see it as the geek flick made by the geek hero. And man, when it comes to scoring with the ladies these days, it pays to be a geek.
Some love her, some hate her but few are indifferent toward Eliza Dushku. I find her to be quite good looking when doll(house?)ed up just so and there's something about the way she carries herself at public events that speaks highly of her level of class. But I think she's a shitty actress. Joss might have loved her enough to turn her into a sex symbol with her role as Faith on "Buffy" and "Angel," and treated her like the ultimate lobotomized Barbie on "Dollhouse," but the only thing saving her melodramatics is her insane body and her wicked, bad girl planning on setting your house on fire smirk.
I wonder what it must have been like for Scarlett, to go from being a Woody Allen muse to taking direction from Joss Whedon, one of the pro-feminist angled directors working today. (Think about it for a second... how many directors go out of their way to cast unique beauties and give them rich storylines, interesting characters, great dialog and ass-kicking prowess that most men are jealous of?)She might have started at Favs' Black Widow, but this summer, she's all Joss'.
Summer Glau, Summer Glau, Summer Glau... She might be petite but she sells herself much larger than her 5 feet, 6 inches and former ballerina frame. Much like her co-star in KINGHTS OF BADASSDOM, Peter Dinklage, one might be tempted to discredit her before seeing her in action. Thankfully, Whedon has made her we've repeatedly had a chance to see just that.
Which one of Whedon's babes do you want to be a regular fixture in your universe?-span>
