I don't know what it is that makes the book series so popular, but I am going to begrudgingly admit that the trailers for DIARY OF A WIMPY KID look pretty darn funny for a film aimed at the family demographic. And when you have a movie which is centered around kids going to school, add that with my warped sense of humour, factor in that this is a Hotties website, you end up with Cherry getting Hot for Teacher this week.

What was awesome about Fey in MEAN GIRLS wasn't just that she co-wrote the script. It wasn't just the fact that she hinted around at having some relations with Tim Meadows' character. It even wasn't just that awesome scene where she goes to take off her sweater and shows her entire class her bra. It's the fact that I could relate to her as being a teacher's kid whose mother wanted her to be a teacher. Hell, I would have ended up as wonked out as poor Ms. Norbury, an adult who doesn't want to have to be the authoritarian but understands that if she doesn't, no one else is going to do the job. I wish I'd had more teachers like her when I was in high school.

I'd have preferred to have been able to add in Salma Hayek as one of the teachers in this battle but alas, my memory failed me when it came to her role in THE FACULTY, seeing as how she is disqualified for only being the school nurse. (Still, DAMN. I can imagine all the sick boys standing in line outside her office.) So let's default to the sexy Famke as Miss Elizabeth Burke. The discussion that she has with the budding thespian Josh Harnett about Robinson Crusoe having callouses be his worst fear is one of those conversations every boy wishes he could have been so blunt about with his English teacher. Especially the smoldering brunette goddess that is Janssen.

And for those of you who love it when I add Zooey to any of the Battles going on any given week, here's yet another chance to vote for her, considering that she played the music teacher in the brilliant but heart-breakingly great BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA. She was the teacher who made her student's wish come true by devoting some personal time to him in the film, even if it meant that he encountered disastrous outcomes when returning home from that museum. Zooey seems like she'd be the hippie dippy teacher who would assign homework like studying the beauty of a leaf or counting how many peas your mother would make you eat at dinner. Not exactly helpful in growing a young mind, but the kind of teacher who you don't really hear the words coming out from between her bow lips.

Extra Tidbit: Well, what I thought was going to be a pretty evenly matched Battle of the John Cusack Babes ended up being a landslide win for British darling Kate Beckinsale, winning the week with 36 out of the 56 total votes. That's nearly 65% of the vote. Angelina Jolie came in second with 11 votes and Diane Lane swept up 9 votes. So far, we still have yet to break the all-time high voting record of 66 with the Battle of the Pisces women.
