I am going to give all of you a couple more days to get votes in for last week's Battle of the Babes because West Coast vs East Coast vs Down South are still so close to call. Don't forget to cast a decision there after we just right into one of my favorite places in the world! America's Hat and all the babes tucked within!
Four our first trio of fem-nucks, I thought we'd feature the ladies who look the most "all American," which has always struck me as an odd phrase in any regard. McAdams is just one of the many classy, homespun blondes who most people don't even realize she's Canadian. But is she better than...
I'll admit, especially after watching her in THE GIRL NEXT DOOR, I don't think I would have ventured the guess that Elisha Cuthbert was Canadian. But after several roles in movies and television with ebbs and tides in the upswing of her career, I see that everlasting, don't-give-up spirit of a true Canadian in her.
I never liked her as the second Becky on "Rosanne," which makes sense once I finally understood that she wasn't American. It's hard to play a bratty, self-absorbed, self-entitled piece of white trash when you're a polite girl from Canada. As Sarah's neurotic Dr Reed on "Scrubs?" Well, that definitely made her seem more American.
