If you're the indie darling that Zooey Deschanel is (even if people like me consider her being on some lame Fox sitcom as taking a bit hit to that cred), you don't just slink into a Snow White dress or some other elegant hooker-ish costume. Nope, you put on your best Patty Duke as Neely O'Hara from VALLEY OF THE DOLLS and you party with the rest of the guests at Kate Hudson's pre-Halloween Halloween party. This is how the indie queen does dress-up. (Personally, I prefer the regular look instead. Even if this isn't a tart costume.)
