Camilla Belle makes plain look pretty

Seeing as how I was a guest on the Geek Girls Podcast back when FROM PRADA TO NADA was being discussed before its theatrical release, I knew I needed to check it out when it hit DVD. Yes, it's as bad as you might expect it to be. Yet it's oddly not as bad as you'd think either. Camilla Belle has a great straight woman's presence to Alexa Vega's vampy sister. You just have to overlook all of the glossy Disney-ish sheen that they've put on the story, as well as the simplification of Mexicans. And Miss Belle, while out doing grocery shopping this weekend, has an incredible knack for looking sweetly pretty in the plainest of outfits and hardly any makeup. I'm still wondering what the hell her necklace is though.

As you know, I love Camilla Belle, but when I saw the trailer for From Prada to Nada, I thought I might not like it. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I actually saw the movie, I found it to be quite enjoyable. And it gave Camilla a lot more to do than in her previous movie, Push, where she basically just stood around the entire time.
