Here it is folks, the moment you've all been waiting for, Chrisitina Aguilera's first starring role...
At the very least some of us can agree that X-Tina is hot and has talent, she can definitely take a sad song and make it better, better, better. Considering the trajectory of most musicians (especially singers) the next logical step is try your hand at acting. While some have failed miserably it's important to note how the type of project factors in the success of it all, so if you're a famous singer and want to break into acting, remember to choose wisely. BURLESQUE is the movie Aguilera will be a part of and it seems to suit her talents, it's a role that fits the little poptress perfectly and in a way mimics her real life path to stardom. Simple girl with big dreams gets her big break because of her beautiful voice (in the process she gets involved in slutty dances).
The movie in itself looks super cliched and predictable: Will she have the right moves to make it? Maybe her voice is what will lead her to success, but as we all know, there will be consequences. With great talent comes great responsibility. And with all the signing and Cher's presence, it also reaches complete gayness levels, but it's kinda saved by the burlesque part, which considering it's also the title, the striptease heavy variety show will factor in most of the movie. Check out the trailer and tell us what you think? Try to watch it without sound, maybe that helps. Do you think Christina has what it takes to make it as an actress?
