Um... I can't believe that I'm going to be saying this but... Hilary Duff is actually quite a classy chick. I've teased and poked at her good girl image for awhile now, mainly because I was offended that her mother allowed her to date Joel Madden when she was still underage (they were official when she was 17 and he was 25). But looking back on my youth, my mom did allow me one older boyfriend as well, when I was 16 and he was 20, so I'm going to need to stop being the hypocrite calling Duff the hypocrite.
What was surprising to me was how eloquently Hil expressed herself when she was asked what she thought of the MyCy Vanity Fair pictures, in which the current Disney pop princess is posing topless except for holding a sheet in front of her. Duff starts by saying, "Everyone goes through things and takes their own path. Who am I to judge decisions that she made?"
That last part kinda stung and reminded me of some of the judgment that goes on (although I still place the blame on her parents for allowing it and then making HER apologize to the media about it, as if none of the family were to blame, just the photog). Duff continued with, "People are pushing you to do something, and if you want to do it, that's your choice, you know? It's not what I would choose to do, but if she did then that's fine. That's her choice. And she said she is sorry - she is allowed to be sorry." Very true. So to Hilary, hopefully you'll accept my apologies for being unnecessarily harsh on you in the past. You quite clearly don't deserve it. Get on with yo' classy self.
