There is a name that brings back some fond memories of times spent in front of the old boob tube (back when it actually had a tube in it). Few hotties back then could compete for my affections quite like Kari Wuhrer did. My love affair with Kari started with her stint as the resident sex goddess on what used to be a watchable MTV. I don't expect the yougins to remember, but there actually was a time when MTV was cool and had some really fantastic stuff on it. Stuff like Kari, for instance. Her time romping around with the late, great Ken Ober, Colin Quinn and a very young Adam Sandler on perhaps the greatest game show of all time, Remote Control, was an instant selling point for me. There was a lot of stuff to like about that show, Kari especially. Of course, being on MTV back then meant that Kari also did a little VJ work, which again is probably a confusing term for you tikes. Suffice it to say that before we had YouTube to deliver music videos at our leisure, we kids of the 80s and 90s had to sit around and wait for our favorite music videos to come on the TV. Thus the "M" in the MTV monicker. And Kari was one of the ones who served them up hot for us back in the early 90s.
As her popularity grew, she went and got implants and embarked on a movie career. She had a few hits here and there, most memorably her role on the reality-bending sci-fi show Sliders. She was also a regular fixture in several low budget, direct-to-video, softcore porn flicks - the kind of stuff Skinemax specializes in come late night. While these were not the greatest movies, their one redeeming feature was a fully naked Kari, doing some rather explicit sex scenes in the buff. Those movies never obliterated any box office records, but they certainly made for some fine late night channel surfing. Then around 2001 or so she got rid of her implants, got married, had some kids, and then just sort of faded away. She's still doing acting gigs in movies and TV, as well as some voice overs for video games, but as far as red carpet stuff or publicity events, Kari is no where to be found. She's basically dropped out of the celebrity world. Too bad, really. Kari was a significant contributor to many a young man's mental spank bank back in the day. I guess married life has taken hold. Good for her, too bad for us. Oh well, I'll always have the memories. Check out a few of them below.
