Lot's of ire floating around about People magazine's decision to make Gwyneth Paltrow their most beautiful woman in the world for 2013. I feel your ire and I understand it. Maybe back in her SE7EN days I could have agreed with their choice. That was almost 20 years ago though. Gwyneth is still pretty hot, but she's clearly been sidelined by several fresher faces. For those of you who might be up in arms, you just need to relax. The thing to remember is that this is nothing more than a publicity ploy. She's got a new moving coming out, you might have heard of it - IRON MAN 3? This is a promotional thing for that and for Gwyneth. It's bullshit, yes, but what do you expect from this kind of mag?
The thing with Gwyneth is that she's living in her own little world. She likes to talk about herself and her wonderful life, but she doesn't seem to understand that her life is incredibly, overwhelmingly unique. For the majority of us on this planet, millions of dollars and a life of luxury are unknowns. We don't understand what that kind of life is like nor will we ever. Yet Gwyneth likes to speak of the rewards she receives from this life as if they were common place. That makes her seem arrogant. I don't think she's arrogant. Rather, she just doesn't know anything else. Combine that with her ambitions to be a Martha Stewart type, tossing out lifestyle choices to the masses, and you can start to see the problem.
My recommendation to everyone who has a problem with Gwyneth is to only pay attention to her when she gives Tony Stark shit for being such a badass, or when she's looking as good as she does here. That way you never have to hear about her touting $3000 soap dishes or shoes that cost more than a car. That's how I get along with her.
