Niece of the sensational Latina actress Sonia Braga, one of the women of color who paved the way for more shades of skin to hit the screen, Alice was born in Brazil and started her acting career as a child, appearing in television commercials for yogurt. As she grew older, she appeared on several Latin cable television shows as well as some Spanish language movie shorts.
But in 2007 she became the only woman for the job when it came to being the only woman left to fight for the sanity and humanity of Will Smith in I AM LEGEND. She was quick to act and speak (the actress grew up speaking both English and Spanish and doesn't hold a particularly strong accent when speaking English) and if you can hold up against Will Smith, that's really saying something. She really held onto my attention in the lesser noticed BLINDNESS (a picture I actually really liked) and shares not only her first name with last week's Hot or Not babe but an ensemble role in the movie CROSSING LINES.
Now, if you've been in a couple of apocalyptic movies, the wife to the enigmatic Chiwetel Ejiofor in RED BELT and are looking into 2010 with not only the releasing this week REPO MEN but the potentially huge summer blockbuster hit PREDATORS, you can legitimately call yourself the woman who people go to for a remarkable and memorable performance. But is it something that gets you considered to be in the top tiers of Movie Hotness?
Is Alice Braga hot or not?
