Last week, it was pretty much decided that not only was Robin Tunney
worthy of a hot label, we were all reminded that she should be working more. As for one actress who might not have thought she'd end up with a lot of work in Hollywood and could have very well proved herself wrong, well... there's this week's consideration.
First off, in case anyone is worried that America isn't of age, she's 24, so feel free to lust if you so choose. Secondly, America's introduction to movie audience's was a big one, starring as the voluptuous daughter of a whiny and stereotypical Mexican mother in REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES. There's a saying in Spanish which basically translates to "Bones are for the dog, meat is for the man," and America definitely lived up to that, building a career on being the opposite of every other starlet striving for fame.
What got to me right away about Ferrera was her seeming freeness, this hippie spirit in the body of what looked like would be an uptight Catholic girl. Taking off her shirt in not only CURVES but in one of my favorite scenes from LORDS OF DOGTOWN, the only sad part is that she's often referred to as being the fat girl that guys treat like, well... you know that old saying about the moped. Thing is, camera adds weight and she's never been saggy (or bigger than a size 12 according to interviews, which is actually smaller than the average
size of women in the U.S.) or jiggly, so far as I've noticed.
Now that America has broken out on television, starring as the lead on "Ugly Betty" and even earning herself a Golden Globe, people aren't questioning her so much about her size anymore. At least, not for being too big. America has reported that some of her original fans think that she shouldn't have lost weight recently, wishing she'd stay thicker. But big or medium, the question is really: Is America Ferrera HOT
