Anyone here recall knowing someone from a family that had a mom and a dad who'd been married and never divorced? Seems as if those couples are the albatrosses of our society among those in the Gen X and younger age demographics. Sanctity of marriage and all that haven't meant squat in the past 30-40 years or so which is probably why it's taken as long as it has for a movie like A.C.O.D. (otherwise spelled out as Adult Child of Divorce) to be made. It's also been too long for me to finally ask if y'all think this week's funny woman is Hot or Not.
Amy Poehler has been bouncing around even before she made her bigger waves as a cast member of the long-running late-night skit comedy show "Saturday Night Live," from 2001 to 2010. Sure, there wasn't much other than DEUCE BIGALGO: MALE GIGOLO and HOT WET AMERICAN SUMMER but that was enough to spark the interest in her that caused her bigger gig that led to so many other awesome comedy experiences like BABY MAMA.
Out of everything that the now 42-year old Poehler has done, one of her smarter moves was recently distancing herself from Will Arnett, whom I understand a number of you guys love and while I think the character of Gob Bluth is great and all, I think it's sad that the couple's marriage began to disintegrate when reportedly Arnett took issue with his darling wife becoming the bigger celebrity and higher wage earner. Career insecurities are so passe.
Frankly, I think Amy Poehler is a doll. She's funny and goofy and all the things that Tina Fey needs in a wife. While there are those who find those same traits obnoxious in her, I find them endearing. Just my take. This heightens her attractiveness to me. While it doesn't always add up to "hot" per se, it always concludes in a smile, laugh and the occasional belly guffaw.
What do you think of Amy Poehler?
