Emilie De Ravin
That cute little extraterrestrial really didn't hail from another planet, but from Mount Eliza, Victoria in Australia. Not that I'd have guessed it, she was rather adept at ditching the accent and I didn't even give her credit for that talent. (Hey, in my defense, I wasn't double checking everything through Google and IMDB back then.) She's a wee 5'2" and yet always seems to dominate the scenes she's in, like a little white version of the short in stature Salma Hayek (no, I'm not really comparing the two other than to say they both act "bigger" than they really are). While Emilie was cute and while she might have had talent, the character of Tess seemed to keep her from landing any big roles for a few years.
Then came the neo-noir flick BRICK, a highly debated flick where most people either love or hate it. Her role was minimal with screen time but integral to the plot line. Personally, I'm one of those people who wasn't moved by the film, and I'm a big JGL fan. It really was her cringing and screaming in THE HILLS HAVE EYES remake that made me feel sympathy for the Tess that I remembered her to be. She really is such a dynamically pretty girl, seeing something horrific happen to her rocks a female to the core.
Then came "Lost." I know, I know... I still haven't watched the show and can only go on what people tell me about Emilie in her role as Claire, the pregnant Aussie who forms a bond with the Hobbit. So instead I'm going to mention that she's starring with Clifton "DING DONG, MOTHERF*CKER, DING DONG!" Collins Jr. this week in THE PERFECT GAME. After the horrible feedback fallout from her dalliance with RPatz in REMEMBER ME, it might be nice to see Emilie finally be given a role where there's a little sweetness to show out of her.
What do you think of Emilie De Ravin? Hot or Not?
