Alright, so I watched her in QUANTUM OF SOLACE and tried to figure out why people were going so ga-ga over her. She looked pretty enough but not the kind of drop-dead pretty which Bond usually acquires on his film outings. Granted, it's a new Bond who gets to be all moody and broody and blonde and stuff, and I will say that Arterton looked cute enough as a redhead, but she wasn't setting off any of my fire alarms. (Perhaps I can just spot a fake redhead?)
But then I caught her as the naughty schoolgirl in ST. TRINIAN'S where she wore a severe black bob and a bad girl attitude and I could get into her. Once I read up a little more on her then, I found out that she was born with a "crumpled ear" which was surgically corrected when she was a child. Cool. The fact that she's going to be bound, naked and all hot-like in THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALICE CREED made me instantly add it to my saved queue. And forget about just appearing in CLASH, she's also doing PRINCE OF PERSIA and reprising her role in a sequel to the first ST. TRINIAN'S. As a whole, I like this chick.
She's got legs for miles, a posh British non-smile, gorgeous eyes and a way about her which makes you wonder if she likes you all that much. She also is known to swear quite often, not get too full of herself but claim that she wants to have a career as big as Rachel Weisz and dammit... well, she seems about as down to Earth as a UK babe is going to get.
