It seemed to be a toss-up in last week's HON selection, the ever questionable Katie Holmes
. It got me to thinking about other women in her "range" of looks, simple and down-to-earth looking creatures from small town America. Who better to discuss this time than this week's actress?
I honestly don't remember anything that Garner was in until watching her as the card slinging prostitute in CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, duped by DiCaprio into taking his check as a form of payment for her services. I'd heard talk about her being on "Felicity," but it just wasn't the kind of show that I watched back then. Hell, even if it came out today, I don't think I'd be inspired to watch it. So for me, Jennifer Garner came off looking like that sweet girl who you were dying to get your hands on to defile.
So it many ways it made sense that she went on to be cast as Elektra in both the movie of the same name and the previous DAREDEVIL. Can't say that I was impressed with her in either movie, nor that I watched even one episode of her fan-favorite television show, "Alias." I did think she was a saccharine delight in 13 GOING ON 30, even if the movie creeped me out as a whole. (Whatever the magic was that BIG had, it took all of it for itself and left none for any imposters.)
The more I look at Garner's resume, the more I realize that she hasn't really
done much of anything. It's amazing how actors and actresses can rack up credits and yet unless you're a die-hard fan of theirs, most of the population doesn't know they exist. Garner most definitely has some quirky quality to her that keeps people intrigued, that "it factor" which is so elusive and makes you question how certain people become famous. As far as her hotness goes, I'd be more prone to admit that I find her adorable or unabashedly cute, but hot? Not so much.
Enough from me... it's your turn.
