Every year, there's an It Girl. Back in the mid-'90's, it was Rebecca Romijn, that blonde model goddess who caused a sensation in 2000 when she showed up with nothing but blue body paint plastered to her famous body. Seems only fitting that 2011's It Girl is taking on the younger incarnation of that blue babe in this week's X-MEN: FIRST CLASS.
I don't know much about Jennifer Lawrence. I don't think many of us know much about Jennifer Lawrence. I doubt there's a big number of you who watched her on "The Bill Engvall Show" or bothered with going to see the recent flop THE BEAVER. But what little we know about her - her Oscar nominated turn in last year's WINTER'S BONE - has proven to be enough. Her first major film role secured her major media exposure and more importantly, well-earned success, as that movie proved that this little blonde thing can ACT.
Going brunette recently wasn't just a style choice attributed to wanting a lower profile after the frenzy around her Oscar buzz. Nope, Jennifer's darker hue is for her role as Katniss Everdeen in the highly anticipated movie adaptation of the popular young adult fiction novel THE HUNGER GAMES. To say that the look suits her would be putting in mildly.
Man, that Oscar dress. It was simple, it was plain, it was not iced with a thousand diamonds. Lawrence's red carpet look that night relied on the young actress' presence alone. And it was the look heard 'round the world. While there might have been a lot of people wondering who she was, it was that look which caused everyone to figure it the f*ck out, right fast. If her acting got her noticed, her looks deemed her hot and this moment made her nuclear.
What do you think of Jennifer Lawrence?
