There are a lot of good things going on in THE BOURNE LEGACY. They cast the hot Jeremy Renner as the super spy, ass-kicking machine that the government realizes they need to take down after he goes rogue. (Interesting fact: For those people who were claiming that Damon might have been replaced due to his advancing age, let it be noted that Renner is only 3 months younger than Damon.) They're adding the enigmatic but extremely talented Edward Norton. Oh, and they're keeping a couple of the mainstays from the previous movies, including this week's cougar Hot or Not selection.
I'm trying to think if I can remember a time when I didn't think of Joan Allen as being a grown up. While she might have gotten an early start in the 80's in loves like PEGGY SUE GOT MARRIED, it doesn't seem as memorable. I think the first time Allen really caught my eye was when she played the beleaguered mom in SEARCHING FOR BOBBY FISCHER. She's quite good at playing the demure housewife with a tiger lurking beneath the skin.
Simple math isn't my strongest attribute, but if I'm calculating correctly, Joan will be turning 56-years old on August 20th, 10 days after her latest movie debuts. This picture of her in a bikini was taken in 2008, when she would have been 52. Considering that Joan gave birth to her daughter Sadie when she was 38-years old and wow... I could fill this sentence with so many flattering things to say about how fantastic her shape is but it's just going to serve to make me feel lowly and undisciplined.
I think I might be covering more older hotties lately not so much because I'm running out of new, young faces to feature but because I think the trend of people who are spending the money at the movies (you know, women like our moms) want to see actresses who have some miles on them. They too like the hope that is given when they see someone in their age demographic still be cast in a light that causes younger men to pitch tents. She's tall, she's exudes a self-confidence that would make a world leader blush and damn.... look at that body! Not even as a 50-something woman, but just... damn. Look at that body.
What do you think of Joan Allen?
