Last week turned out some interesting discussion on the featured babe, Nicki Minaj, and essence of her being "fake." So I figured why not veer more into the realm of the real? What better way to do that than feature a French actress this week, seeing as how the French are always described as being live-life-whole-and-full types.
I'm starting off with a mid-1990's image of Julie Delpy so that I can remember her during the time that she was what I believed the most fearless young actresses getting cast in American movies like KILLING ZOE, no implants, not shy of nudity, speaking at that fast-pace intelligent clip that French young women to have such a knack at. And damn, was she this ethereal beauty with her almost-too-big eyes and full, lush lips.
Taking a bunch of interesting roles over the years between 1995 and mid 2000's, from the time period in which this picture was taken, you wouldn't have thought that Julie was in her mid-thirties, still a knock-out, still full of vigor and snark wrapped in a delicate package. I thought she was destined to be the woman to look as good at 80 as she did at twenty.
Flash forward only 7 years and take her out of protected environment of photoshop, muted lighting and all that jazz and I think that Julie might have contracted BEFORE MIDNIGHT co-star Ethan Hawke's affliction for aging like a tweeked-out methhead. I'll give her this: I'm glad that she embraces her wrinkles. I'm happy that she always looks so satisfied with her life and work. But I wonder... Why the rapid downturn in the Hot department? I'd rather sit around and discuss classic literature now than think of her in a Lipstick Lesbian way anymore.
What do you think of Julie Delpy?
